Still happening in the UK in 2011, I have an SE X10i and had to reinstall the software a couple of times due to hacking the OS. I got my Vodafone UK bill to find this number 3 times on there charging me 0.204 GBP so I Googled it and found this site and posts.

...and in Norway too! I've been charged NOK 1,48 twice; first in Nov. 2010, then again in Dec. Had no idea what it was until I found this site. Now it sort of makes sense as I updated/reinstalled my phone's software around the same time (SE Xperia X10). I've never received any SMS from SE though, or any hint whatsoever that they would charge me for anything. >:(

I'vebeen charged as well. I think it is annoying. It is a foreign number and not that cheap. bad habits. Change tins Sony ericsen :-(

Yes - also charges in Denmark april 2011 - to a swedish nr. - again no warning befor charging - bad way to do business.

This is bull crap . I have been trying to fix my phone and have had to reflash the firmware a few times. And noticed that one one of the times the was amessage telling me my phone was now registered to sony. I was not asked if I wanted to register. Come to find out I was being charged everytime i reflash firmware which ended up being almost 5 dollars canadaina. Is there any was to stop this because , Sometime my phone screws up and the only way to fix it is to reflash, now I am going to be charged for everytime i fix my phone. This blows! do not buy SONY ERICSSON Phones.

Me too, I start using internet on my cell Sony Erricson W8 and charged Rs 3 for this international number SMS, Dont know why.
