Got a letter today from the Office of Arizona Attorney General. I have filed a number of BBB complaints about this business. The normally worthless BBB has finally provided some worth, since the Attorney General contacted me by seeing my complaint with the BBB. The state of AZ is filing a lawsuit against Abode Air that will prohibit them from EVER soliciting consumers by phone AGAIN. Wanna help stick it to them? The state wants as many witnesses as they can get. Anyone who has been called by them after asking them to stop calling, and anyone on the Do Not Call list that has been called by them. If you are on the DNC list and have been called, print out a copy of your Do Not Call registration verification (go to www.donotcall.gov and click on "Verify a Registration") and bring it with you to testify at the hearing.

"If you are interested in appearing as a witness for the state, in it's lawsuit against Abode Air, please contact Diane Davenport at the Attorney General's office at 602-542-7763" The hearing is scheduled for Sep 8th at 9:30 before Judge Burke of the Maricopa County Superior Court.

So... EXCELLENT NEWS! I am so going to be there as a hostile witness. Paybacks for all those friggin calls.

This company is obviously run by a professional scammer -- an obnoxious, convicted multiple-felon -- and has no concern for business ethics or any threats you may make for legal action against them.  As much as those who have been ripped off by them and those who have been constantly harassed by them crave revenge, remember, they play by a different set of rules.  Best to just block calls from their numbers, hang up on them, avoid them, and not enter conflict with them despite the provocation.  This is not merely an unscrupulous businessman, this is a legitimately dangerous person.

Fortunately, the abundance of complaints has drawn the attention of the Attorney General, and Ron is currently buried in litigation.  He'll get his.

I testified against that [***], Ron Dew, yesterday, 9/8/11, as one of the state's witnesses.  He actually looks like a jerk.  I was in the afternoon group of people.  The morning witnesses were called into the court room one by one.  Luckly, the afternoon group all sat in the jury booth together.  We were questioned individually by the judge, prosecutor, and defense attorney, but it went pretty quick and our portion was all over in a little more than an hour.  It's my understanding there will be more witnesses today, Friday, and then the judge will give his ruling in the case.  I had previously asked the prosecutor what would happen if the [***] continues to call people after an injunction is issued (assuming that happens).  Unfortunately, she said it would require court and witness accounts again, but at that time he would be facing jail time.  The prosecutor said she thinks he'll stop because the judge will advise him of this fact.  I'll believe it when I see it.  After receiving hundreds of calls from Abode over the years, anything he decides to do wouldn't surpise me.  I doubt it would happen, but I wish he would get fined what he deserves.  The judge will probably fine him a few thousand at the most.  The FCC's do not call registry website says a fine can be up to $16,000 per person the company illegally contacts.  He deserves at least a $1 million fine.  Put this scammer out of business!
