- AnnoyedThey call several times a day, seems to be Wells Fargo Card services trying to collect a debt. They also switch up the number by changing area codes, so when I get a call from 5034032686 I compared it to another one that started calling that was titled "out of area" and had a number of 633-403-2686. It seems a bit too close not to be the same, I just dont answer it. I wish I knew who owed them money and put my # in.
- AnonI too have been getting 5+ calls a day from this number to my brannd new phone - it is Wells Fargo, and the (800) 988-8019 number someone else listed to call worked great. Pressed 0, talked to a human, gave them my phone number and it should be removed from the system within 24 hours. Total time: 2 minutes.
Thanks for the tip!- Caller: Wells Fargo Credit Card
- Call type: Debt collector

- JustPeachy replies to SteveI agree, this is definitely a scam. I kept getting a phone call from these people looking for an "Earl Tomazide" and I finally got annoyed and called them back to get my WORK number removed from this list. The girl on the phone asked me for my credit card number and name in order to look up my account. Wells Fargo always asks for my account number, and by the way, their phone number is 1-888-863-9557. not an 800 number. The are fraudulent.
- David HeckWow did I just go thru an ordeal! After getting the constant calls from the (503) 403-2674 number, I called it and did what it said. Call 1(800)988-8019. So I called. In our day and age the first thing they ask for is your credit card number. This is how WF identifies us, and it's kinda weird and scary. So I gave it to them, they read me a bunch of jargon about how my account was overdue. I didn't believe them, cause I never received my paper bill over the holidays. I demanded to speak to a manager and they hung up! I call back and get a similar sounding Asian girl, and I immediately ask where she is. Where are you? "Manila." What like the Philippines? "Yes." I said, thank you I think I'm fuct, and hung up. I've had my id stolen 2 times, and by this point I'm sure I've just sold my soul to some Filipino scam. So I immediately call the 800 number on my Wells Fargo card. I get this guy who sees the same overdraft fees, he explains that the (503) numbers that have called me 5 times a day are from the office next to his. A new "call out" service. My account is overdue $15 so I'm throughly pissed at this moment. I paid the account and considered closing my WF savings, checking and CC services. Be sure to get on their "NO CALL" list!!!! I will pay-off and close my WF CC tomorrow. :(

- BJL replies to Dustin HNo you are wrong or lying. I just got off of the phone with my Wells Fargo Bank on 4/24/2013. They have no record of that number in their system. They do not have a collection agency called Wells Fargo. When a debt gets that far, they sell it to a third party and they are done with it. The 1-800-988-8019 number has been reported to their Fraud Department. The darn music isn't even right and the line is full of static.
