Caller identified himself as John Smith on the answering machine. Sounded more like someone from the Philippines. Started saying something about me committing IRS fraud and that before he would have me arrested....and the answering machine cut him off!
This guy called 2 times afterwards on other days and I hung up.

This lady with a thick accent called my dad. He says my dad needs to go to jail. I'm like WTF. He claims to be a senior of a police officer. I'm like what did he do? He says nothing. After he keeps calling me saying you are going to be arrested. I'm like police don't call me like that she thought I'm dumb. This is a prank call.

He claims from investigation and I just hung up on him

I have been getting such calls from an officer Don Lawson. The calls originate from a 202 number, but when I call the number back no one picks up.  When I call the 512 541 2184 number, I get a voice mail.  I want to leave a message with a few of the choiciest cuss words, but the machine is full.  This is a pure scam.

Same stuff.  Guy actually called my father trying to get my number.  IRS agent scam.  I called him on it.  He responsed, "If this is a fraudulent call, then why the hell are you calling me back."  I hung up and blocked the number, proceeding to call Austin PD and then the FTC.  1) Impersonating an agent of the government is very illegal.  and 2) This guy is wasting our time and hurting the USA GDP.

Report him to the FTC so they can stop this nonsense.

call regard some body file against me for investigating, I ask info and hung up and call Austin police.

We had a lady fall victim to these sick individuals today. They called her claiming that he was a detective, working to collect past due money for the IRS & she would be arrested if she did not send the money asap. She follower their instructions, and pulled out $2,000.00 cash, and put it on 4 pre-paid cards from 7 Eleven & gave them the number. :(

Someone identified themselves as erik hall, and left a message.  Said he is calling from Crime Investigation Department and he has some affidavit against my name and my identity is under attack.  And left phone number (512)541-2184 to call back as soon as possible.

How can I report him to FTC.  I am fed up of these jerks wasting my time.

I got the call from same number claiming to be from austin from acting a an officer and said that I have crinal complaint against me. When I asked him why he has thick accent he got angry, I googled and  found all this complains. Thank god I hung up.

Claims to be working for irs crimes decision. Told my husband to go to walgreens or walmart to send him $2087.95. Husband hung up. Called back and I spoke to them. They yelled at me, two on the line at the same time. I was playing with them. They said they would have my husband deported to his home country, ha ha, I asked if it was tropical...

This is a TOTAL SCAM, accent is definitely Indian or Pakistani.  I'm Indian, so I'm sure of it.  Anyway, the same claims as above, violation of taxes Federal and State.  I knew it was a scam, so I asked what State and he changed the subject.  

Anyway, in the end, I told him the Hindu gods would not be happy with this type of behavior and actions, which he ignored and continued on with his "You are in violation of...." then closed it off with a few Hindi curse words.  He then started to curse at me in Hindi and then I was like, "Gotcha!"

This idiot keeps calling and acting as a police officer looking for someone who has an arrest warrant. He has a thick accent. After stating for the last time no one lives here by that name he then asks for my name repeatedly. I didnt give name. I see this is a scam. Calls apparently have been coming out from this number since January according to this website. I dont know why someone can get away with this for so long. I need to trace this number, find this idiot and crack his head open.

Got  two calls from 512 541 2184. The person has a South American accent. He wanted to know my name. He knew my last name . Ask me if I was the person. He said there was some investigation going on . Before he could finish his sentence I hung up. I have had this threatening call once before when I was not home . He left a throning message . Isn't there anything we can do to fight this kind of harassment?

I also got a call from this number and he said he is Daniel Brown. He left a voice message saying that there is some crime investigation against me and I need to call him back immediately. I did not call him as I knew this seems to be a scam.

Called me number of times. Identified as Immigration dept.

So I know by now this is a scam so I picked up the phone and told him to kiss my a..To quite calling and HE will be the one reported and hung up. Well he called right back from same number but ID showed Austin, TX. I didn't pick up phone but it was the exact same voice who left a message saying " if you have any guts you will (then I couldn't catch the next few words) and when he realized no one was going to pick up the phone he hung up. Not only is he scamming but he is threatening and harassing everyone. I probably get a lot of these scam calls as I am middle eastern so they figure my English may not be good, I might be afraid of the immigration and IRS which none is true.

One 'Alex Martin' called and left a message on my answering machine with pretty much the same kind of message - "blah blah ... Criminal Investigation Unit ... blah blah blah ... cannot tell me what the legal case is ... blah blah blah ... call back at this number"

I am so tempted to call him back just to have some fun.
