Calls all times of the day and night and many times a day. I am on the Do Not Call List but that is another joke. If I could I would punch the person on the other end of the line in the face a few times

I've participated in a Nielson survey (where they sent two very crisp $1 bills in the mail to me)...and when I submitted my survey, I then received another $5 in the mail.  Like you, I thought I would never be chosen to participate again, but about 3-4 months after participating in the first survey, I received another piece of mail from them with $2 again and a request to participate in a week-long radio survey.  I agree with you in that Nielson is one of the very few legitimate survey groups out there...hopefully you'll be invited to participate in another $2 survey again soon :)

Moron. Punch yourself.  Surveys are exempt from the Do Not Call list and have been from the start. Learn to read and then go to https://www.donotcall.gov/ and see the notice on the main page.  If you want that changed, there are a lot of people who would agree with you, but like you, are whiners who don't know who is or how to contact their state and federal reps to raise some dust.

Nielsen is a respected and well established survey company and very careful about how they identify themselves in calls.  Their name and a toll free number would show in your caller ID.
In the past, I was contacted first by US Mail and I did get a follow-up call from an 800 number to make sure I had received the survey packet.

I am not 100% convinced this number is to Nielsen, and there is always the possibility the number is being spoofed. Neilsen has MANY numbers on it's website, and there might be a number there to call to double check on if you are being contacted by the real company. The legit callers from Nielsen I spoke to were very clear and professional.

In the case of any "survey" call, if you get a bad feeling about any question or about the caller, just hangup.

--- So the number is legit, and the only question remains is if the number/name is being spoofed.
Legit numbers do not a Legit call make. Which kinda sucks.

As I said before, if you have any doubt or something don't feel "right" about the call, hang up. Nielsen provided a number in their answer that you can call to double check on the calls.

When I spoke to the Nielsen rep who called me a while ago, the rep said that they have been instructed not to leave messages on answering machines/voicemails. I answered a series of questions and later received a thank you letter along with a few dollars tucked away inside. 🤑

Thanks, that is good info to add to what we know as it is more current.
I was contacted for one of their surveys 4 years back and they were professional and helpful.  And, yes, cash money!  I can't remember the last time I had seen folding money that was so clean and crisp; each bill looked like it had been washed, starched and hand ironed.  Class outfit all the way is Nielsen!

In the last three weeks I have received TWENTY ONE calls from this number, multiple times a day.  I am on the DNC list, but they have continued, day and night, until I finally blocked the number tonight.
There is always a 2 to 5 second blank recording on my answering machine.
If this is truly the TV survey company one would think they would either give up or leave a message instead of continually annoying me with calls at all hours and blank messages.

This UNKNOWN number from Ohio registers as "Potential SPAM" and NOW it's VERY UNBELIEVABLE that this phony individual claims that "Nielsen Research INC." is doing a marketing telephone survey as they're contacting us at random over the phone.  Although I still find this UNKNOWN number from Ohio VERY ANNOYING!, I noticed that "Nielsen Research INC" is actually located out in Florida as the main reason why this Ohio number registers as "Potential SPAM"!  Therefore, the real working number for "Nielsen" is 1-800-237-6493 and report this unknown call as a survey SCAM FRAUD!

They call both my house and cell phone at least twice a day, each, and either say nothing when I answer or hand up as soon as I picked up.  Often after only one ring. It's annoying and I have never given them permission to call either of my phones.   Call them to ask why they keep doing it, they want you to give them your number so they "can correct this." BS.  It's 2022.  They have it on their screens by caller ID.  Since they call from more than one number, I'm convinced they are spoofing Nelson's number.  When I called the main Neilson number right after calling this number back, it said it's customer service was closed.  So, why does THIS number work if it's Neilson? I'm not buying that Neilson is calling random people at 7pm on a Sunday night.  And if they are, they are in violation of their own rules.
