Same here. We just got a fax from Mission Bay Capital Advisors. It is for our former owner who passed away last year. Weird.

Same as many commenters.  Fax from Ken Jackson purporting to have someone in Ohio wanting to buy our company, gave this phone number to reply.  Thanks to all for pointing out this scam.

Total scam these people somehow get the names of profitable companies and solicit sale for a fee

Ohio based company wanted to buy all or part of my business....and they're letting me know this by fax...total scam!

Stop sending letters to my fax about companies interested in purchasing our company. Our employees as well as our management team don't appreciate your advances. In a day and time when most companies are striving to move forward in a tough business climate the last thing we need are unwanted and unsolicited advances from a telemarketer. Get a real job and education. Maybe then you will realize the harm you cause by sending this unwanted crap

Been receiving faxes from this number for several years from Karl Spencer on Mission Bay Capital Advisors letterhead, "with offices throughout North America", so it says. Thought about requesting a 100k deposit (cashiers check) to be placed in escrow pending negotiations just to see the reaction, but decided I do not have time to spend on these scammers.

I received a fax from Karl Spencer and phoned as soon as it appeared.  Funny thing he was not around to take the call.  Talked to one of the slick [***] voice guys which  to see if there was a buyer truly interested.  Scamm

Received fax from Mission Bay Capital Advisors.  Only info was this number.  Must be a scam.

Faxed letter same as above from Aurora Advisors Associates saying they have been trying to reach us about a significant buyer who has interest in purchasing or part of the business.  This one is signed by Daniel J Richardson, Senior Vice President.

Aurora Advisors Associates states they want to buy part or all of our company and have been trying to reach us. This is a monthly fax even though I asked to be removed from the list.

Keep receiving faxes and they are not even faxing the Children's Center

Get this fax from Wall Street International from Karl Spencer stating that he has tried to reach me twice with regarding a buyer in Ohio who wants to open up immediate negotiations to buy all or part of the company.  tel: 514-339-9998

I think that you'll find that 'John' and 'Jim', who both posted on the same day, are part of this scam.

This time it is from Aurora.  The bad thing about this is, faxes are read my many in my office, and if a rummer gets out I am selling, it could destroy my business.
