I think I know this number - it was on my phone too.  Did you recently apply for a professional license?  This is a legitimate number from the State of Michigan.

The number is from MICHIGAN DEQ. A valid state orgainization for the state of Michigan

Got a call from this number.  Answered the call and they just HUNG UP ON ME!

I got a call from this # as well. No msg so I called it back and the msg said it was an unreachable #

this number just calle me as well, told them they had the wrong number. called back and message said un reachable and to call 517-373-1837. called that number and they said they were a state operator and they dont know who called and why, however i did just apply for a state business license and submitted a request for child support that was faxed over to a lansing number

I received a call from 517-335-0002 on Monday, 12/13/2010 at 8:33 AM EST.  No message was left.  I called the number back & a recorded male voice says "You have reached a non-working number for the State of Michigan.  If you need further assistance, please call 517-373-1837."  Well, I didn't know that I needed further assistance, but I guess I did now, so I called the referenced number.  Like people said above, it is the Michigan Operator.  All she could say was that the number that I received a call from was an outbound-calls only phone number for the State of Michigan and that maybe someone in some Michigan government office was trying to return my call so I should call back whoever I was waiting for or wait for them to call back.  I told her that I did have some business with the state, but that I wasn't in the middle of any communications about it.  She said I should just try calling them back anyway.  I said I'd take the second option of waiting for them because if they really wanted to reach me they could make a professional phone call and leave a proper message.  I then thanked her & promptly hung up.

A specific department did leave a message - but it didn't appear in my voicemail inbox until 2 hours later.  But, it still doesn't negate the non-helpful nature of a generic outbound-only phone number or the Michigan Operator.

I believe it's just a catchall State of Michigan number that shows up on caller ID.  I filed a complaint to DHS about one of their departments and this is the number that showed up when they called me back about it.

Same story as everyone else. Called the number back, directed me to call Michigan Operator. Michigan Operator couldn't tell me anything. If the State of Michigan is going to call my phone, I'd appreciate it if they'd at least give me a clue about what branch of the state they are with.

Called on a sat morning, hung up before my machine could pick up, then called again and same thing. I called back and told it is non working number for st of MI. I called the alt number, but offices closed.
I went to state website, typed in DMB IT, it linked me to Dept of Management and Budget Technology Information. Further research it is a plan laid out to help state and it's citizens work better in different areas, using info from surveys.  I think it is an automated survey type call to collect peoples thoughts and opinions about something with the state.

Yeah this number is a dead line that the state of michigan uses to call from and if you call it back the call doesn't go through. They could be calling from any state of Michigan department...unemployment, CPS, fraud unit, state tax investigator, etc.

This part is very true.  I had gotten a call from this number also, but it was from the Unemployment office. Its an out-going number only.  But can be from any State of Michigan office. :)

I keep receiving calls from the ''ST OF MI DMB IT. I don't have an answering machine so they aren't able to leave a message but they never call back. When I do a reverse look up I have to pay to see who called. I would like to know what this number belongs to. I have applied for unemployment and am waiting for a hearing. I wondered if it was the state of mi. unemployment office but the initials don't correspond.

this number comes up on my phone it reads st of mi dmb 335 0002 can you stop them from calling dont know who they are . i have not been able to answer their call . i have been at dr,appointments and miss this call

got a call from ST OF MI DMB IT, no message! Frustrated because my husband has been having an issue with UIA for about 2 months now. Called the govenor's office to try to resolve this issue. The one time we were not anxiously waiting by the phone to resolve our issue and now we'll never know if it was someone who was willing to help!!!!

It is a legitimate state office for Michigan. Mine was in regards to my Bridge Card application, though the call back number was not the same.

yeah it looks like a generic outgoing number for state of Michigan calls. In my case all good I am applying for federal funds that have been allocated for hardship in ownership to save houses for owners. Michigan has only allocated 11% of the funds. I had a 25% reduction in pay this past year plus medical a broken foot that was screwed together.
I thought I would save money by parking my truck and riding my bike. Guess what no more multiple discount and my Ins. for home owners is now the same as I paid for house and car. I am applying to have the escrow deficit cleared up from the increase ins.  and hopefully some help on the monthly mortgage until I get everything back good.
