Call today from wholly unprofessional but not *completely* rude guy.  "Save the children" schtick and all that - received on an office line after 6:00pm.  They'd called on other days and asked for the boss, then hung up when told he wasn't around.  Today I was ready for it.  Kept him on as long as I could so maybe he could harrass on less person.  They will keep talking if you don't hang up - I don't think they can hang up on their own unless they have dead air - so keep them engaged and do your part to cost their scam company.

For awesomeness, check this out (wish I would have found this beforehand):

    Charitable sort
517-679-0757 called us "on behalf of Save the Children." When I told the rep that we don't talk to businesses callong "on behalf of" a charity because they are a business scamming money off of a charity, it got ugly. When I told him to remove the number for their calling list he said I'd have to give it to him because "I'm calling from behind a computer." Well, the computer KNOWS what number was called. He dumped me to his "manager" who tried to tell me they didn't know what numbers were being called. This is clearly a scam. Any reputable telemarketing firm would have its reps know what number was being called and would have a way for reps to remove the number from call lists with the click of a mouse.

I have had the unfortunate experience to work as a telemarketer. They are not allowed to leave messages by law. The national do not call list does not apply to non-profit organizations. Most of the people that work at call centers are either people between jobs and have to pay the bills just like you and have families to support. If you do not answer the phone, they must mark you as a call back. It is a requirement of their job. There is a specified amount of information that they must tell you before you hang up for them to be able to classifly the call as a complete call. This is usually their name, the name of the company that they are calling FROM, and the name of the company that they are calling FOR. If you recieve dead air, its often because there is a machine dialing the calls and you dont reciece a rep until they finish with the call that they are on. Just stay on the line for at least one whole minute. There are also important things that they must answer if you ask them!!! Things that if they don't answer correctly, you can sue them for!!! Get that, you make money off of them!!! Watch this link, it explains in more detail

    After Hours
Called tonight at 9:00 and this was the first time in two days. Normally they call 2-3 times a day at different times. There is a voice sometime and other times it is just a dead line.  What a bunch of low life scum.
We are on the Do Not Call list which is a joke . Between the bleeding heart politicians and the so called charities that find their way around it .
     Sure thankful for caller-ID.

    Everbody...!

    Call Shawn @ 248-552-8866.....
Seems to be the Call Center Manager.

Complaints have been filed w/ the BBB (14 total w/ no response from Insight), and the FCC. If money is asked for I would suggest calling FTC as stated previously in this string.

    Good luck:-)

They call late into the evening and RUDELY demanded to know who I was. When I asked who was calling, the social dipsh*t hung up on me  I asked to be removed from their list, but why are they able to dodge the no call lis? And why bother signing on if these losers can still harass me?

    Call the FCC.
One call and complaint led to no more calls froms Lansing, MI.
They claim to be non-prof, thereby avoiding the no call lists on file.

    Good Luck

This is the same crap they are doing to me. I have emailed them, called their automated line to remove my #, and filed multiple complaints with the FCC to no avail. Tells me the FCC isn`t doing [***] to stop this. I am just fed up with this harassment. All I really want is these [***] home #`s so I can keep calling them at home 3 times a day and hanging up on them.

When they (5176790757) call I say hello and there is no answer then it hangs up , I have filled a report with thew the do not call registry. If the don not call laws and agency don't work we should get congress to abolish those laws and create new laws that do protect us from this kind of harassment. Also the agencies that enforce the calling laws should be dissolved and new ones put in place that are privately owned not government owned so there can be competition to do a good job enforcing these laws.

Got this suggestion from another page, but call 1-248-552-8866.  You will get a live person and can request to have your number removed.  I'm not sure if it works yet, but it's worth a shot.

Tired of scammers.  Under the "Do not Call" service, Not-for-profit organizations are exempt.  Ask them for their government issued ID number to verify that they are a non-profit organization.  Good Luck!
