As some of you have already discovered this is Aktiv Capital. They are a collection agency. If you are like me, I have had debt,however, it was from over 18 years ago and has exceeded the statue of limitations but they are still calling me so they are extremely persistent and are not going to stop. How do I know for sure the debt was from that long ago you might wonder? They call and ask for me and ask for my maiden name and I was married in 1996.
If your debt is old look up the limitation for debt collection in your province
Second look up The Collection Agent Act in your province.
They have broken many of the regulations from trying to collect debt they no longer have the right to do so and calling my ex-husband who was responsible for the debt in the first place in order to get my new unlisted phone number and calling neighbors to get my number when I changed it.
Once someone gave me these helpful ways to deal with this issue I have started getting together the facts  with the help of the government agencies who have  established the regulations, in order to have this ancient debt taken care of.

Also register a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as with Consumer Affairs, if the collection agency is acting in an illegal or unlawful manner, threatening or harassing you. It pays to be informed!

this is AKTIVE CAPITAL  from London ontario .....threatening court action for a 20 year old debt that doesn't belong to me or anyone we know.my credit is perfect so they got the wrong number. very rude very obnoxious .I think I will buy an auto dialer and program only their numbers and have it call them every 2 min and see how they like It. maybe it will plug up their phone lines.

They call daily.  I do have a small debt and started to make arrangements to clear it.  But they suddenly became so rude that they gave me the impression they didn't want me to pay it.  So thats exactly what I'm gonna do.  As long as they're going to be so rude, I'm just gonna have fun with them.

I got home from work and my wife told me that a number called for me ... 519 963-1310. My wife said the name of the company was "Allstream" Incorporated, calling from London, Ontario, and said that it was a woman personally speaking to her, so they must have changed their name, (which they probably have done many times already).

Here's some information I received that you may find helpful, if not now, perhaps later, but it's definately something to always keep in mind. My first wife had a Bay card and passed away in 1993. Recently, (say about 10 months ago in 2015), I started receiving phone calls from a collection agency stating that I owe them my wife's debt .. after many calls from this company I finally told him once and for all to do his worst, that he's NOT getting a red penny from me, yet, the calls continue, (my wife has taken this over on my behalf, lol). Now, here's what you may find helpful ... these calls were getting to me so I simply looked up a lawyers name in the phone book and called him, telling him this same story and adding that my first wife has been deceased for 22 years. After a long pause, the lawyer said, "I hope you don't take any offense to this but I'd tell them to go F**K themselves ... A COMPANY HAS TWO (2) YEARS TO COLLECT ON A DEBT", the lawyer also told me to ask, (the guy calling), if they had a judgement against me, which means a judgement in court and if they said no, that I should re-instate where they could go.

So, no matter what took place in the past, (such as this collection agency claiming that I co-signed on this card, which may or may not be true .. I can't remember), the fact IS, is that this company is 20 years too late to collect this debt and these companies are betting on your ignorance of the law and that they can intimidate you into paying.

They r Collection people looking to rib you off and make some money
In the first place they stole your info illegally
From some where and that's illegal

They call me at least twice a day, so annoying!

I have been harassed by them for more than a year!!!  And I do not own anyone any money!!!

I believe that this company works together with at least one other company call "CBD Collection Services" in BC to harass selected people in Canada, and they own a lot of phone numbers, like:  604-296-3232, 778-452-2506, 778-330-2280, etc.

Their best name should be " XXX Harassment Services Corp."
I do not understand how could they make money by harassing people like this??????

You  can  block   there  n  and  anyone  else  with  trie  caller  app  it  works  and  they  wount   be  able  to  leave  à  message

just go to your local government  M.P. and ask them to have the calls permanently stopped  and the actual accounts wiped off   these guys and gals just don't  want to spend a cent to process these old insurance paid for already accounts because they know that folks like all of you don't realize they likely have already pulled there insurance and got paid for the accounts, months or even years ago and in court they may loose .

The law should go after the people whom behind this phone number. In the USA the people whom disturbing by this type of a..holes get compensated by $1,500.00 per call. Here in Canada we should implement a same law so lot of people would be think twice before will hassle anyone.

Who ever called they just hanged up with out talking and I just got this number a few days ago.
