Received 3 calls on my answering machine.  I called the number back and he told me that I was going to be arrested and my there would be a lien on my property.  I advised him that I paid my amount and have copies of my check.  He hung up.

I also live in GA and just got a call from this number. A man with a mid eastern accent claiming to be Steve Martin left a message saying I could have serious Federal charges and he wants to help me. Luckily I did not answer the phone or return his call.

Got the call a few min ago... Called him back (caller id blocked). I told him, was a Fed Sec Agent w/ the US Gov. Told him this number was reported for investigation. Asked for his name, work address. The idiot told me he was in the USA, never give me his name and hang-up… Payback…

I was called FOUR times from this number in the past 4 hours.   I live in GA as well.   I didn't answer any of his calls.  Each time he left a message saying said the same - criminal charges, appear before magistrate.  Scared me to death!!  So glad I found this thread.

Total scam!!!! Don't answer or respond!!  Wish there was something we could do stop this!!!

Doesn't this fool know anyone who is a native English speaker? Obviously not. Recording is of bad quality with a thick Indian accent. Starts, "this maaassage is intaaanded to contact you." Probably used a computer program to translate and It didn't work very well. Calling about the "U.Ezz Trrrresurrree" and a Federrrral Crrrriminal Offaanse" (that accent again). Ends with "Hellip Uzzz to Hellip Yooo." There is NO WAY anyone going to call back. 530-532-2612

"Steve Martin with the US Dept of Treasury" called demanding $4,600.00 immediately or I would be arrested for tax evasion. Supposedly they tried to contact my accountant for the miscalculation and this was my one chance to try and stop the arrest which was to garnish my wages, freeze my accounts, seize my house, etc in the next 45 minutes. That was 12 minutes ago so I'm going to try and enjoy my last little bit of freedom before these Treasury Agents from India imprison me for 3 years. In their defense I did egg it on by telling them to please go ahead and send the Agents because I wouldn't be paying them $4,600. They additionally failed to tell me the accountants name, the amount of my return, my home address (though the Agents must have it), etc.

Someone needs to stop these people as I'm sure the scam has worked on someone or they wouldn't be trying it so frequently. I also believe that the real felonies involved here are not my miscalculation of my taxes but fraud, impersonating government officials, and harrasement.

They left me 2 messages in 2 days.  I called them back to mess with them.  He told me he was Steve Martin also.  He hung up on me.  I continued to call back only to be hung up on.  One time I even talked to James Bond. lol.  When I called back and ask for him, he told me that he was on a mission.  (so funny).  My last call I spoke with a so called supervisor.  I played dumb to him.  He told me that me and my husband were going to be locked up in 45 minutes.  I ask him how much we owed.  We owed 12,498.00!  I said oh know my accountant must have messed up.  What was I going to do?  He said to do nothing, that a chopper was going to come pick up me and my husband.  I told him that I was scared and he said to just get in the chopper when it gets there.  I said can I pay you the money.  He said No, you can't do that.  It is to late to pay.  I ask him where he was and he said Washington, DC.  I ask him was they taking me to Obama, he laughed and said no.  He finally said I was not getting arrested that he was kidding and for me to have a good day!  If they think that I am falling for it, I play right along with them.  But for those of you that think they want your card number, they did not want mine.  He said that I could not pay, it was to late.  Haha what idiots...

I think this is definitely the way to go.  Call frequently and repeatedly.  If enough people will do this it will cripple these parasites.  It is also kind of fun to string them along for awhile.

This number seems to be disconnected.  I hope it was because  I kept calling. Anyone know the new number?

So what initial appearance before magistrate judge(?) grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 786-486-0869. I repeat 786-486-0869. I advise you to cooperate with us and help us up here. Thank you."

I received the same message -- from a man named Steve Martin -- US Treasury.  It was a threatening call and he said it was the second time he called.  I have no record of that, but I am not calling him back.

I just got this same Robo-Call from "La Mesa, CA". Ignored it and am posting the other phone number:

I was called by this scammer from; 619-467-1949. These scumbags can use any area code by using VOIP phones through a VPN or a server like  "Tor" and they will certainly never be caught!!!
