Got a call from this number, didn't know who it was so didn't answer.
No voice mail. I have GEICO but i pay the whole annual premium every
November when the policy renews.

ITS NOT GEICO!! I GAVE THEM WRONG INFO AND THEY NEVER CATCH IT... DONT FALL FOR THE SCAM I DON'T HAVE GEICO AND THEY NEVER CALLED ME BEFORE!!!!

GEICO insurance

Not sure if it's really Geico or not, I do have them but I pay 4 of every 6 months Renewel and Payment not due tell April 29th. They left no message. my guess is if it is really them there trying to sell add'l service.

seems to be that geico is in problems if it calls to collect money :)
just getting these calls on my home # and use autopayment to geico, don't bother myself - this is some scam.

There's an option nobody has considered.  It IS a legit number for GEICO, but the calls aren't all actually coming from that number.  Somebody is spoofing that number so people will believe it's GEICO.  They are then trying to get credit card info to "make an overdue payment".  If they just happen to hit someone that does have a GEICO policy and owes money, that poor sap will probably give up the info.  It's an identity theft scam!  If you ever get a call like this, don't give them info directly.  Instead contact the company to find out if it's a legit call and make ayment arrangements with them.

If you think that they are paying long distance you are mistaken. They don't pay long distance. They have VoIP(voice of internet protocol)it is voice packets that run over their DATA network. I'm sure most have heard of it. They can call anywhere in the world and set parameters up so that is routes to the local area and is as if it is a local call.

I know this because I work for a Telecom Company. I am here because I just got a call from the same number and Googled it. I do have Geico but not late on my bill and no msg but, big deal. No reason to give a crap cause they didn't leave a message, I rarely do myself. So in closing, RELAX people, life is too short to sweat the small things in life. Good Day!

I got a call from this number on my cell phone from geico insurance saying my bill was due and i dont even have geico i dont even have a drivers license to have insurance. it was a answering machine like message.

I received a call from this number 3 days ago... It is Geico reminding me of payment needed.  Automated message "Steve" reminds me of my payment due via voicemail.

Called me twice once at 6:00 am and then again at 8:00 am the same day! Who does business at that time in the morning. They must be calling from the East coast since I live on the West coast could be the only reason that the call would come in so early in the morning.  I have Geico for insurance but have no reason they would call me at this time of the morning that I could even think of, my BILL is paid and I'm not that important of a customer to them(or they would give me a break and lower my insurance premium)but if I was that important that I needed to be woke up early in the morning by a phone ringing that I can not get to because I'm half a sleep and in a daze wondering what might be so serious enough for a family member or a friend to be calling me at this time of the morning with bad news... Then to find out its not family nor friends, Its Geico well they should have at least left me a voice message or showed on caller I.D. the company name (GEICO)not just a dang number (540-286-2500), Then I would not have had to look it up and submit a complaint about them on this site.

Same for me.  No message or anything, which I hate.  I am late on my geico so that is probably why but still leave a msg or something, I understand why some people don't leave msg's but if this was geico for pete's sake leave a msg.

They usually call when your insurance is about to lapse to due non-payment, etc.

Called 3 times in 2 hour intervals - I attend college & I was in class all three times they called. Once at 10:30, once at 12:40, and then at 2:50. My insurance is not through Geico & my landline is the only number I used for that anyway. They also left no message.

Wow. GEICO customer service bad? That's funny. They only have the highest rated customer service of any company in the United States, and have Fortune 500 companies modeling their customer service after them.
