Has anyone tried to call the company to be taken off their list?

555-123-4567 is obviously spoofed caller ID.

And isn't it ironic that the previous post on this thread is also from a spambot, just like the calls from 555-123-4567?  Even more ironic, my name is not really Wikipedia, but it was easy to make it look like Wikipedia posted this message.

Got a call from this number earlier while I was on another phone call so I did not answer.  Got curious and looked up on the Internet and got no real answer.  When the number called again the guy on the other line started in with "Hello I am conducting a research......"     I said "I'm not interested and please put my number on your do not call list" and as I hung up I heard him say thank you.

Got 5 calls from 1-888-733-1984, one left a msg. saying to return this call on 555-1234567 threaten to "put a lean on my house, take my paycheck, &/or damage my credit".  Called the 555-1234567 # & rang but no answer.
