Hi Heather, today (2/16/10) I received a call also from 561-860-2562 stating that Hugh Downs is interested in featuring our program, a children's home, on the Insights Program.  They scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning at 9 am.  After doing a little research on this "scam" I've tried to call back to cancel my appointment, but only get a recording.   I was told that a Mr. Sebastian John wanted to interview me to see if I qualified to be on Mr. Downs' series "Helping Humanity".  Other names I've been given on recordings or person to person are Kyla Honeycutt and Karen Watts.  I guess these are just more of their telemarketing team.  It's amazing that this approach is obviously as successful as it is.  You had your call several months ago from this same number and engaged yourself with the same person.

not sure what to make of it - but everyone should forward these to an official police department so they can find these people if they are cheating hard working people.

Got several calls from a company that said they do a show with Joan London gave me directions to the website very well kept however when I went to research the website came across a permission slip they had linked and it was privacy protected . Chris Allen he said he was the producer he was a very quick talker started talking about how he wasn't a journalist just a producer that's where my expertise came in because he could sell the story to his boss. What he didn't realize is one I majored in journalism know the terms and he was mixing tv broadcast with movie production and editing also I live in los angeles and why would he from the goodness of his heart contact our company and at the end of the conversation he threw in that the travel and exspense would cost me just 3,000 plus and the travel for his crew would be around 16,000plus. The only stipulation is that our company couldn't reproduce Jane London on our website really. First off since when do producers make contact calls to raise money from ssomeone they don't know? If it walks like a duck sounds like a duck well guess what its a duck. Not judging this company just be aware and do the research. Honestly don't have proof however don't feel good about dealing with the company.

Also Chris Allen says he is doing  a series on bio remediation and crime scene cleanup bringing awareness to the viewers. He says its a non profit  television series. At the end he said it would cost me a little more than 19,000 . What threw me was they had been calling acting as though they were looking for a interview from us and then it turned into how we were responsible for this television series WHAT. How do you go from can you help us with an interview to will give you all this pr after you pay us ?

Just received a call 3/11 @ 10am from someone named Marie Sachs. It was a 561-995-5352
ext 105. She stated she was calling about doing a Spring show on the ION Network concerning Marriage. She had recently seem my new book on marriage so, I guess they are targeting authors now. She stated they needed a schedueling fee $5900 for production cost in order to do a segment concerning my book.  It was sounding great until the $5900 came up. Immediately a RED flag popped into my head.  She gave me a website: www.livinginstyle.tv
She didn't really know the name she was calling and the first time she mentioned the production fee she said $5000, but later in the conversation she changed it to $5900. I immediately hung up and decided to search for this under scams.

Hey now people, there's a difference between a "scam" and a "rip-off." This is the latter. These TV shows do actually exist and are hosted by celebs so it's not a scam per se but they are infomercials and you have to pay through the nose. Also, when you're on the phone, they make it seem as though they want to interview you for the show when in fact, they're soliciting you for advertising.

The same woman called us a YOU gNeek about our Working Lighter Cufflinks http://www.yougneek.com/you-light-my-fire-working-lighter-cufflinks/ that we sent out a press release for.  She left the number (561) 995-5352 x 130 and left only a few details.  We tried to call her back and leave messages but she just calls back with the same message leaving no further details.

Art of living marilu henner is a scam. This company calls me every month trying to get 25k. They where almost shut down by the attorney general see platinum television group. They do not even use their real names. I know that is illegal. Art of living marilu henner and watchartofliving.com is nothing but a scam. They all need to get a real job and stop scamming companies trying to make a real living

This is Living in Style, which is a TOTAL SCAM.
They initially made contact with me a few months back, and even though I nicely said that I was not interested, they continue to call me each and EVERY day (sometimes leaving voicemails, othertimes not).
While I try to let their calls go to voicemail, there have been times where I've made the mistake of picking up the phone and the guy gets pushier and pushier each time.
STAY FAR AWAY from these folks!!!

Latest name in this same tired scam is Public Television Distributors, Inc.  And their newest face is Martin Sheen. They are calling the show In Focus, but it is the same old song and dance, you pay big bucks for no guarantee of anything ever airing.
Additionally, they have purchased a staggering number of domain names, started a Facebook and a Google +, and even made themselves a Wikipedia entry in an effort to appear legitimate, but be assured, In Focus with Martin Sheen is a SCAM. Repeat, InFocus with Martin Sheen is a scam! Not a report on a scam, an ACTUAL scam. Do not give money to Public Television Distributors, Inc and their show, they guarantee you nothing as return on a more than $20,000 investment.
