Just received a call from this number(571) 261-0012, did not answer but let it go to the answering machine.  Picked up the receiver and disconnected the call after hearing it was some resort saying that I had won a $2200.00 vacation ... at that point I didn't need to here another word lol

I got this 571-261-0012 calls 3 times. left messeges, said: you won $20,000. LIER LIER LIER. STOP TREATE!!!

Silence.

I thought robocalls are illegal beginning Sep. 1. Please read the "Latest News" article " Robocall ban starts Tuesday" (link at right near the top of this page). NOTIFY the FTC if you get a "ROBOCALL" from this or other numbers!

Called the number (using a free public phone) and got a recorded message for their get off their call list. The message has a distinct accent.

The message does not identify the marketing company. Highly suspicious, and is possibly a sham company doing a scam. They may also be collecting bonafide phone numbers for future calls. In any case, one cannot even tell if the same company calls again and again! If they get in trouble with the feds, would they blame the "foreigners" that handle their call list? Who knows!

I just received a call from this number. Once I picked up it said "Press 9 for message". I did so. Then the line got disconnected.

I just received a call from this number and it said International Call on the call display. When I answered it was silent for a moment and then a computer generated voice said to press 9 for a message. No way was I pressing 9 or any other number. I have heard that there is some type of call and when you press the number you ask them to it gives them full access to make all kinds of charges on your phone. Don't risk it.

I agree with Bob's comment below.  These folks are Phishers! Do not give them any information. They say they are from Visa/Mastercard calling to offer lower interest rates for a limited period of time.  They then ask for credit card information and balances. When I told them I would not be willing to give them my credit card information, but I would be happy to look at their website to get more information on this initiative, the lady abruptly hung up.

Missed a calll from this number tonight. I did not know how this guy get my cell phone number. This is first sales or marketing company know my cell #. We should stop this guy calling around.

First of all this number is from Virgina! I am Canadian and they called my mobile phone number not my land-line phone number. When I answered they hung up.  I have had them call me 3 times at very different hours? Are there any American companies I can report them too?  The Gov website in Canada was actually a scam to get telemarketers numbers... please help

Who is this? They call my cell phone, no message, not harrassing me but I would like to know if this is a solicitor so should I register with the DNC list.

I got a call from this number #(571)261-0012 with the ID "DNC REMOVAL". I picked the phone, and i'm instructed by an automatic system to click "9" to continue. After pressing the digit 9, it stopped.
I decided to investigate the call. I realized that DNC means Do Not Call. I think some advertisers out there realized that your phone numbers are listed on the website https://donotcall.gov/ and they are giving you the choice to opt out. When you do so by responding to their instructions, they will start targeting you with advertisements.
Please make sure you register your phone number with https://donotcall.gov/

I just received a call from this number with "Removal DNC" as the caller listed.  It was an automated call for the candidate running for re-election in our local County Executive race!

was called by 571-261-0012 on my cell phone. This, i thought is illegal in canada. Called it back from skype and it tried to remove the fake skype number. Sounds like some kind of ineffective scam but what could be the reason?

I have complained to my government and they tell me there is nothing they can do when I receive spam calls from other countries outside of Canada.

You may know who these people are.

They should not be allowed to bother me on my cell phone where I have to pay for each call.  This is wrong.

Canadian people can call 1-866-290-4236 and get their residential number removed but it didn't work when I tried to register my cell number.

USA "Consumers can register on-line for the national do-not-call registry by going to www.donotcall.gov. To register by telephone, consumers may call 1-888-382-1222: for TTY call 1-866-290-4236.  You must call from the phone number you wish to register."

Canadians can email
