I called this number and an answering machinge picked up. The message started off with "... you have called Merritt Research...we provide information to better help businesses help you..."

It went to say something about the "highest standards of ethics.."

I also just rented a call from enterprise, just got this call 3 times

I didn't answer on cell, but I just rented from Enterprise, so given what's above, I'll go along with the Enterprise post-rental survey conclusion.

I got a call from this number as well.  Likely in my case it is a creditor.  A 3rd party collection agency, trying to collect on some debt.  It's a machine that calls and they are trying to verify that it's your phone number.

I received a phone call from 571-431-1844, I missed the call but they didn't leave a message.  After seeing all the posts on this page, I'm convinced that it was from a marketing research company calling on behalf of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  I recently rented a car from them and I remembered that they phoned in the past when I had a different cell #.

I got a call at 8:36 PM CST on my cell phone and I had just rented from Enterprise a couple of days ago so even though I didn't pick up I bet that's who it was. I used to work for Maritz years ago when they did customer satisfaction surveys for Ma Bell so I'm pretty sure it wasn't sales either.

Recently rented from Alamo Car Rental and got a call from this number a few days later. I'm guessing, like others, that it is a post-car-rental followup call.

Rec'd another call from this number on my cell phone and they hung-up as soon as I answered.  Called back immediately and a voice mail answered advising me that 1.) they were calling from "Merit Research" and wished to solicit my opinion on various products; 2.) they were NOT in violation of the 'Do-Not-Call' list as they weren't a telemarketer (my understanding was that ANY solicitation/intrusion of your personal 'space' as requested by listing on the 'Do-Not-Call' was/is a violation); and, 3.) if I wished my number to be deleted from their database I should call 800-864-8601 - which I did.  I could not find any "Merit Research" on Google.

After reviewing the previous posts and recently renting from Enterprise, I assume it was a 'customer service' call...however, the Merit Research I found does bond ratings - out of IA...the 571 Area Code is from VA...go figure.

I geet a lot of calls from this number but I never answer and they don't leave a message. Says "unknown caller" on the ID.

Got a call from this number and it cam up as Washington D.C. no message left.

I got a call from this number 5/16 and 5/17 at 6:07pm and 7.33pm.  I rented from Enterprise 4 days ago it is a survery company.

Received call on my cell phone.  When I answered the man said "sorry I have the wrong number".
He didn't even ask for anyone, so I don't know why he knew it was a wrong number.

I think it is a survey company hired by Enterprise to conduct it's surveys (and probably do them for other companies as well).... I had just finished an Enterprise car rental

Its a research company...basically they want you to do a survey. My sister does them all the time and gets paid for them

I just got called on my cell phone from this number Phone was upstairs and I was downstairs so missed it.  Did the Google search and came up with this site on the phone number.  Makes sense it would be Enterprise.  The dealership working on my daughter's car lent me a rental car from Enterprise on Wednesday.

Said Washington DC in caller ID.  Was a follw-up call from Enterprise Rent A Car to see how I liked the service.  Yes, I did rent a car this past weekend so it seemed legit
