HOW DO THESE PEOPLE GET YOUR CELL NUMBER IN THE FRIST PLACE.

Number is disconnected when you call it back. Foreigners who couldn't say what company they represented. They did want money. They wouldn't even specify how much they wanted. They just needed a payment today or they would arrest me. If you owe money to someone you cannot be arrested for it. They can sue you and get a judgement. You would be served by a process server in person. Then you would have to file a notice of intention to defend so the court would summons the creditor to appear and show cause (proof) for why a judgement should be entered. At that time you can plead your case (if you have a legitimate defense against said debt). If you do not answer the court summons after served to you by a process server the judgement would be issued by default to the creditor (default judgement). After that point you still can't be arrested. They can file a lien against real property or get a writ of satisfaction and perform a bank levy and empty your bank accounts if they knew what bank you used.(if they don't know they may look at where past payments were made from or steal your trash when you place it on the curb and look for bank statements). Never ever ever at any point in time can you be arrested for a debt that hasn't even gone to court. In some states there are weird laws on the book such as Ohio who will arrest you if judgement remains unsatisfied for 6 years. Doesn't mean they ever do but you would have already had your day in court close to 6 years earlier so it wouldn't be a surprise.

Voicemail from this number..."Rachel" from card holder services informing me that it is urgent I call back to receive info on a lower interest rate on my credit card. Obviously a scam I don't even have a credit account. Tried to call back to screw with them or get some info on who they were but number is disconnected. After reading some of the other posts on this number i realized its not the first time I've gotten some of these calls. If you ever get a real person not a machine NEVER give them ANY information just throw it back in their face and ask them all kinds of questions on their business and location and a number to call if your interested. Its only a matter of time before they go down.

Received call from this number around one pm today.  No message left.

They said they needed my credit card number and im young so i dont even have a credit card

I am a senior citizen.  I have received calls from this number about my crfedit cards.  I hang up. They leave messages, I ignore.  They are preying on the elderly.  Will report to Attorney General.

I just received a call from 585-919-0331 on my cell phone.  I called back from my work line only to find that the number had suddenly been "disconnected".  The only way I can think of someone getting my cell phone number to solicit something to me, is maybe adding someone on facebook that wasn't actually my "friend".  I have my contact information on there, and facebook is making it easier and easier for your information to be seen by your other "friends".  

Please let me know if anyone can identify with this scenario, maybe we can narrow down who the offender is.

I received a call from 5859190331 this morning, and it is not the first time.  What is strange is that the call went to my land line, which RARELY gets used.  I am from New Jersey.
I am glad that I am not alone with this.  These people just scam on whoever, but it is scary because so many people are in debt and would believe them.  It kind of makes me lose hope in mankind.  I laughed at the fact that these people reportedly identified themselves as "Carlos Santana" as per someone else's post, haha.

Andrew, I can identify.  I am also a law student, so I have some serious interest in what is going on with these calls. Maybe we can figure something more out about this?  I just don't know how to get in touch without the entire world knowing my contact information.

This raises another question...how to be anonymously contacted, when you in fact DO want to be anonymously contacted.  To think that would be so hard.

Do you think this has to do with Facebook?  It's what I narrowed it down to.

Got a call from this number today telling me that I won a $500 Walmart gift card and they will send it to me if I pay $5 for shipping.  I said "I am not an idiot and dont call this number again!" and then I hung up

I just received a call from 585-919-0331 with the caller listed as unknown. They hung up when I answered the phone.

Received call at 1:44 a.m.  EST.  No one spoke.  Checked number on line came up for upstate NY.

Got a call from this number and other weird one today, they called several times. I  never picked up.
Is it me or they usually start harrising you this time of the year? I've never gotten calls during the summer.

I received a call from this number this evening and they stated that they were from an attorneys office and that I owed a National Advance Payday Services $200 dollars and that the state was filing suit against me tomorrow.  This was at 7:30 this evening.  When I called back the number was disconnected, but somehow they called me back a few minutes later and I told them off.

Received a call from this number this morning at 11:20am, they did not leave a message. Received another call at 4:00pm today from another strange number that also appears to be a scam phone number, will report that on here also.

I've received many calls from this number.  When I call back, I get the message that the number is disconnected.  I rarely use my cell phone, and have no face book account.  How did they get my number?  How do I stop these calls?

This number has called my cell 6 times in the last 3 hours and have not left a message. I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't recognize. Have saved the number and turned off all the ring tones so eventually they may get the hint and either leave a message or stop calling.
