60006

My partner got a text message from gala offers under the number 60005, she has been charged for this incoming message and they also charge her for sending STOP back to stop any further messages, what a scam this is ! Who gives them permission to take money without consent? This happened to me a few years back and one of my monthly bills came to over £90 !!! Can anyone help??

I received a text purporting to be from Black Horse inviting me to complete a survey and to stop survey text 60006. I believebthis is another Scam what can I do.

Constantly been charged on my O2 bill from this number 60006

This was about a flood warning. Should think is a scam.

SMS said "Hello from the Environment Agency" and included a bit.ly URL to a convincing web site, but said to text 60006 to opt out. Probably a scam

Got a msg from 'floodline' (yea right) just a load of old tosh really about living in a flood risk area which l was amused by as I live on the 8th floor in a highrise lol!.. very nearly texted the 60006 number to tell em' to 'F-ORF'  but thought better of it cos it might have cost me to do something i wanna do for free!

Scam!! 'Floodline text" Don't click on the url, nor reply to the number. It"s a scam.

I got a Flood warning message this morning from this number. If there was a warning to be got ?.  It should have been regarding Hurricane Caroline & A SNOW warning...They want a STOP Text to this number for future messages?  But at What COST?...

I have received several texts from HomeLet which opens to a message beginning 'Introducing Trov, a smart insurance...' The message ends with instructions to text HLSTOP to 60006 which is chargeable. The number the text originates from is not shown but on initially attempting to text stop (but then cancelling) a system message advises the number is invalid. Interestingly enough, I only started receiving these after cancelling my insurance with AXA who made several attempts to get me to stay with them. I made it clear I wanted no further contact - particularly marketing. Trov is an American company affiliated with AXA!!! I believe this is along the lines of other premium rate numbers that can be rented, and as soon as a reply goes through you are charged extortionate amounts. At best this is an illegal practice and I am going to see if I can log it with the ICO - who can investigate if they receive sufficient complaints and who can levy fines.

Seems this number is active again and has texted myself with the following message “Hello from the Environment Agency. You live in an area at risk of flooding. We'll either call or text this number to let you know if there's a flood warning in your area. This service is free.  More information bit.ly/2iKHLyJ. To opt out text REMOVE to 60006”.
I strongly advise against engaging with this message as you receive it as after researching the number here it would seem it’s possibly another scam. If you have been charged money by this number I would advise contacting  https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/.

I too have received a message about Flood warning but have spoken to O2 and they assure me I have not got any charges.

I have just received a text from buzz bingo and I have had to send a text to stop it and it has charged me for both how did it get my mobile number anyway....

I got a message from the "Environmental Agency" in case my area is at risk of flooding in the future, apparently, I will receive a text. There was a link for more info which I didn't click... and also if I wanted them to stop I should text "REMOVE" at 60006.
Now, there is a service like that from gov.uk but I wonder if this is the genuine thing or it's a scam because I've never signed up to the service to begin with. I read here that other people have received messages for different things so I'm very suspicious...

I have just received the text above. I have not texted back but I tried to report it to Ofcom however it only says Floodline and does not give details of the number.

I had the same text and I phoned my telephone provider they said it's an internet based texting so they can't stop it.
I suggest putting a block to premium rate text and calls so you cannot be charged.
