Called thru telling me the booking that my hotel res has been cancelled due to hotel being permanently closed. Although having taken a trip to the States last year I'm live in the UK ... Def marketing call ... - Elisabeth B. A.| 1 replyI havve a missed call from this number this morning and I booked a flight through Expedia a couple of weeks ago.
- Caller: Expedia scam?
- Elisabeth B. A. replies to Elisabeth B. A.It really is from Expedia - not a scam. I called their listed number in Norway and my flight was really canselled and we are reschedulling it. So: Not a scam.:)
- Eka MSomeone from a dotcom company (wasn't very clear despite me asking several times!) called to let me know that the hotel reservation that I made with hotels.com was cancelled because the hotel is closed for renovation. They are proposing another hotel nearby as a replacement. I insisted that they do this in writing....as I wasn't prepare to take verbal agreement. Somehow, the caller hung up, soon after I insisted that they have to inform me in writing! This is definitely a scam call: as I have now called the hotel and they have no plan of shutting down or renovation.
Beware...if someone receive a call from this number, please do not give out any payment (credit card or bank) details!!!!- Caller: ??.com (wasn't v clear!)
- TravelerTotal scam. I ignored the first four calls, but with four calls within 15 minutes, I thought something was wrong. They told me a hotel reservation we had booked (and paid for) over a month ago couldn't be honored because the hotel was oversold. Called the hotel directly and the reservation is intact. Ignore these scammers. Called from two numbers -- 602-282-6149 and 480-270-8191.

- HmmmmMade a reservation yesterday with Travelocity. Am literally on hold with them right now to fix incorrect airline tickets and this number kept calling in. Kept sending it to voicemail. Got on here to find out who it was. Unknown at this point if it is legitimate or not.
- Caller: Just says Phoenix, AZ
- StephenIt is indeed from Expedia. I read the information provided here and considered this number as a spam. I did not answer over 15 calls from this number. When we arrived the originally booked hotel at 7:30 pm, we noticed our room was over-booked. It took us about 30 minutes to contact Orbitz (Expedia) and settle down the alternative hotel. So pick up the phone, otherwise you may end up like us.

- Roy replies to RichardRichard, this is for sure scam number. I guess you are on their team trying to defend them. Expedia does not ask for cc numbers and if a hotel is overbooked the hotel will contact the customer directly and offer a different but similar accommodation for the same amount.
