But you're living off unemployment right now, on MY tax-paying dime.  o_o

Immigrants don't just leave their homes and families to come here and sit around and do nothing.  They are some of the hardest working people in the nation, doing a lot of the crappy jobs you obviously don't "want to work" for, in conditions that you'd never be caught dead in, and that's why you're unemployed right now.  Some of them have three and four jobs at a time, so they can support their kids, and FYI, immigrants do not just show up one day and get a free ride thanks to Obama, especially if they're illegal.  They have to live under the radar, and don't get any benefits, and end up in some of these crappy jobs and situations because if they speak up about it and get police involved, they run the risk of getting deported.  I'm sorry about your situation, but don't dare start trying to blame it on the immigrants who are already busy working for a living, doing the jobs you don't want to do--which is why you're on unemployment and THEY'RE NOT.  If you're that hard up for money, why don't YOU become a day laborer for a while so you can make the cash to pay off the loans you owe?  Since you're so eager to work, that is...

Don't ever work with Wells Fargo.  I arranged payment with a collection Manager, i have the agreement in writing.  For a year i have been paying on time as agreed.  I even paid off one loan under the agreement.  I was told the agreement would always be in place and stay with this manager.  The reason my loans went into non payment was because during transition they "lost" them for over 30 days and told me i have no loans to pay.  For 30 days I contacted them and various reps said "no loans under that name or social"  It was there stupid systems and they admitted it.  Yet I went into collection.
Now some recovery dept is calling me even though i have been paying.  They changed the account number again.  And when i tried to return a call a rep told me they don't like my agreement and want more money.  He told me they can void the agreement and do what they want.  What the hell?
I don't know what to do.  I fought them the last time using a Consumer Advocate from Wachovia.  All emails come back.  I guess they wiped everyone out in the merge.
I have a signed agreement from an authorized Wells Fargo Manager and now they say they can do what they want even though I have lived up to the agreement.

Sasha called and asked for me by my first name only. My wife had answered and since Sasha would not tell her anything she hung up on Sasha. We had no idea who she was and what she wanted until I read this site. Thank you 800notes for preparing us for the next call. We will probably use the zapper the next time this number comes up. Our loans are auto pay so it must have been for our daughter and they should have said as such.

I don't have a loan through these people, and they are calling me about an over due amount. I am fortunate enough to be married to a legal assistant with all the benifits of 5 free lawyers. I have warned these people not to contact me again. I hope that they're not handing out other peoples information randomly. I would strongly recommend not using Wells Fargo due to the fact I'm getting calls I'm sure for someone else's loan.

You can write them and request they only contact you by mail- it will stop the calls.

If you have a written loan agreement with the terms and amount you owe in print- fight them, find an attorney or go through your states attorney for information on free legal aide that may be available.  Wells Fargo would have to provide you in writting, any change of account information including account number changes- which would only happen in the event of a merger. Then write them and request to be contacted only by mail from now on, it will stop harrashing telephone calls. I suggest you refinance through another company to pay them off and everyone here consider a class action lawsuit against them. Citibank was sued under this years ago on credit cards. The less you owed the more they jacked up your intrest rate-they did it to me when I hit $500. paying my credit card off. When I got to $100, they were charging  104 % intrest. I will never have an account with citibank again because of it. I'm glad I looked this number up on Google, because my son has loans through Wells and needs another to pay for college last semester and to consolidate loans. I will make sure it's not a  loan through Wells. Thank You for the posts on here everyone. Best of luck to all of you. Read the fine print on any loans you do take out, just to see what the terms are and if, they can sell your loans to another financial institution or pull a 'Wells". We don't even answer the phone here- the answering machine handles it. I love the delete button after the first few seconds of the message, once I know who it's from.

They call daily (and the caller id is showing 339-042747) and when we answer our business phone no one will talk....very annoying--Called the number, it was Wells Fargo, asked who they needed to reach and she said she couldn't help, that numbers are on a "dialer" and she had no way of tracking the number to the person?? Really....than don't call a business, very rude and unprofessional.  Call the home number and leave a message if necessary if you need to contact someone, but not a business##!!

Wells Fargo calls me if I'm one day late on my payment. This last time, they called me 5 times in one day, on a Saturday, beginning around 8am. I will never ever again do business with Wells Fargo, including opening up a checking account, based on principle. The most recent agent I spoke to was quite rude. She basically scolded my for not paying on time, and told me I need to get my priorities straight and learn how to handle my money more efficiently. For a minute I felt like a 12 year old getting scolded by their disappointed parent.
The other private lenders I have student loans out with do not call me nearly as much as Wells Fargo. Not even close.
They're crooks charging as much as they do in interest. Sallie Mae included.

Glad to know who this is - my experience is similar to others who have posted ....I get calls at all hours and very frequently. Now that I know it's Wells Fargo, I can surmise that it's a call to a person who used to have our phone number years ago and, apparently, has bad credit.  Next time they call, I'll answer the phone to let them know.  I haven't had dealing with Wells Fargo since 1979 or thereabouts, when they were the first (or among the first) bank(s) to start charging ridiculous monthly service fees. I joined a great credit union --where, btw, they paid ME for having a checking account-- and never looked back. Wells is definitely out for every penny they can get, which is, perhaps, an admirable attribute to have when you're trying to turn a profit, but they don't seem to care that they do it at the risk of alienating good customers.  Well, what can we expect.  Gov. Romney said it himself ...we're the 47%, the parasites.  BIG thanks to the folks who posted info about the Fair Debt Collection Act, etc.  The better informed we all are, the more quickly these nonsensical business practices will stop (or, maybe, at least, slow down).

Same thing happened to me!!  I told them MULTIPLE times that I wanted to see a bill or I would not pay them because I needed confirmation the person on the other end of the phone wasn't a scammer!
It took them three months to send it, all the while they hit me with late fees.
Then the woman had the nerve to tell me to go "Ask other people to help you"...!!!
    Is that even LEGAL?!

I received 5 calls from this number before coming here to find out who it was.  I received 4 calls on a Saturday and tried to answer the one time I was near my phone to see it ringing, but there was no response on the other line.  No messages were ever left on the other 3 calls.  Then I got another call this morning (Monday) and did some digging, seeing that it was WF.

I paid my student loan the day before it was due, with a transfer from my WF checking to my WF loan.  The payment was deducted the same day, so I thought nothing of it.  But clearly the loan department isn't posting the payment.  So I called a number from the WF site, rather than just calling this number back.  I called 1-800-378-5526.  The first woman said my balance showed overdue and when I said I had paid it, she transferred me to the department that makes the calls from the 605 number.  I told the second woman that I had paid the balance and it was deducted from my account.  She said it would probably show up today and noted that in my account.  Both women were very friendly and helpful.  I can't say for sure if I will get more calls today, but based on actually speaking with someone at WF, I feel like the matter was easily resolved.

I would recommend that anyone getting frustrated should just call in to WF and see if someone can sort their situation out.  I have never made a late payment on any account, ever, so it was important to me that this be resolved, rather than just continue to ignore the phone calls.

This number has been calling nonstop every single day for days. They wake me up at 8 am every single morning, never leave a message, and when I answer the phone they hang up. I looked the number up online and saw that its a wells fargo number. I do have a small student loan with them (which is almost paid off), but have never been late with my payments so I don't understand the harassing calls.

I have been receiving repetitive calls daily, within hours of each other,  from this number and name.  When I answer the phone there is no answer and shortly I receive a dial tone.  Based on comments by others,  I assume it was originated because I co-signed a student loan application with my granddaughter.  To my knowledge, she keeps up her payments, and I do know she is still employed, so I cannot see why I need be subjected to this harrassment.
