Yep, I just got a text from a kathy_beatrice@yahoo.com  asking me about my motorbike for sale.  Reads strongly as a scam. Phone number was +61 0402241538

Hi there, just wanted to add my two cents worth after I was contacted by kathy_beatrice@yahoo.com, with the same dodgy story and grammar. She said she was purchasing my bike on behalf of her husband and wanted more pics and that a shipping company would be around after payment was made?? I have never sold anything before so have not come accross this before. I was wondering how it works if she promises payment before getting bike shipped?? Does she have a fake account that she can make transactions into then withdraw from straight away?? Anyway, just wanted peeps to know. My ad was posted on Gumtree in Perth.

I just sent a reply to another person about kathy_beatrice@yahoo.com, forgot to add her number that she first contacted me from, +61 420 903 732. She was also after my bike on Gumtree with a dodgy sounding story and bad grammar!

i just recieved emails from this guy. Seems like an international scam. I posted my ads on a Norwegian private ad site. 😮

Hi. I am glad I took the time to visit this site. Because I got a simular e-mail from this Walton Bernanke whom claims to live in the UK. He asked if my bike was still for sale wich I layed out for sale on the site finn.no (Norwegian "e'bay"). I answered him by saying yes and he replayed asking for how long I have owned my bike and for the lowest price. After this I replayed asking for the highest price. I didn't think it was something weird about this since I thought he lived in Norway and just didn't speak Norwegian. But after my answer he came with a price and I say it was okay. But now I got a long e-mail from him saying that he got a shipping company coming for the bike after I have got my money on PayPal. He also said that if I didn't have a Paypal account he could make one for me. He seems trustfull and thats a problem. As soon as he said he lived in the UK i got a bad feeling. It would be weird that somebody should travel so far for a crappy scooter :/ I searched up his name thinking that I might find a facebook page or something nearby. The first coming up, was this site and I now know that I will not give him any answers.

Exactly the same with a baby bed, but he forgot to clear the phrase "Is your automobile still for sale?" from the end of the answer email!!! Hahhahahaha!!! Foool!! F__k you! I will tell it to Police. Thanks for writing here. What a luck searching in Google!!

he mailed me with the gmail account and asked exactly the same question about some furniture I am selling on a Belgian website. Before we named a price he sent me all details about pay pall and shipping agencies. I was carefull and looked up his name and found this blog here. So glad I did. So people be careful. I did not give any response anymore to that guy.

He is trying to buy my bike as well. Got a text and email from walton.bernanke8@gmail.com. I have responded to him with a price and waiting for his feedback. I thought it was fishy since the text was from a US number. After checking google I found all these comments. Lets see what happens when I say no cash no sale.

I also remember getting a similar e-mail from a person wanting to buy another thing from me. Very strange and you are right, no response is probably the best response.

I forgot to say, I live in Sweden, seems like Walter contacts people all over Europe :-)

asked me to mail him back.. Reading this thread assured me this is a scam.. Will get in contact with him anyways and see if I can get close to him.. then....you know.. I'll correct him.

The same guys even in July 2017. It is a fraud.

I got the email, very weird though. Wanted to buy an old furniture in Slovakia!? Found me via portal bazos.sk, sent me an text msg in broken Slovak lang. (no number displayed) then communicated in English. Email w.bernake777@gmail. com or bernake.w@outlook.com.

Hello i am from slovakia ang i got the same msg from this guy. First i recive text msg from no number just whit email walton.bernanke8@gmail.com and inerest to contact him. I sent him an email what exactly he wants. I sell furniture, he wants to buy 40 beds from me And he asked for lower price. I had bad feeling, than i found this site. Its fraud for sure but does anybody know how exactly he can fraud you? Did somebody send him an bank accout? What happened next?
