- BeckyJust a call from these people today. It was a lady with a middle east hard to understand accent, asking me about my Visa. I just hung up. Don't accept anything from these guys just hang up it's a scam!
- CatherineI didnt fully ordered a bumpit and they started calling me.
I'm too busy to pick up my phone, but after about a month of calling I picked up a couple times and knew it was a scam.
I heavily cussed them out. I dont get calls anymore.
as for bumpit, they charged me with no confirmation number and the package arrived with no recipt. they are suppose to give me a full refund once i waste my time returning it.
never will i ever make business with amature websites. - nikkiI got the call just now, and they claimed to be my cc company and thanking me for being a good customer. When I questioned who they were, I made her spell it out, "Key Benefits" and she told me that I had purchased something from one of their marketing partners. When I asked who, she couldn't tell me, for my protection they didn't have that information. Yet somehow they have my the last 4 digits of my cc #. I recently purchased "bumpits" - those hair styling combs. But at no time did I ever authorize them to share my information. It really makes me suspicious that they have my personal information as well as the last 4 digits of my visa card. I may have to contact the bank and have them issue me a new number.
- Caller: Key Benefits
- radishmomLooks like I'm the first poster in a while, so this may or may not be the same operators -- this CID (no message) showed up on an underage person's nearly brand-new cell # twice in the last week & a half. Wouldn't surprise me if it were a random autodialer.
And, no, we NEVER ordered a Snuggie or any other infomercial stuff.

- Caller: don't know
- StudentSo I am a student in high school. I get this call during school. They called me back again and I answered. They asked me if I wanted a $100 certificate from Target or Walmart.I tried to ask some questions but they just continued to ask me if I wanted it. I also tried to be nice to them and just say I had to go but they continued to ask me. I have not ordered anything off of an infomercial such as a snuggie like most of these that I've read so I'm confused as to how they got my number.

- vkMade the mistake of entering pch sweepstakes- they sold my number. Received this telemarketing call just hours later. Ugh.... Do not give your number out on sweepstakes. All you can do is not answer it.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Gabby Jim replies to SandyMake them stop? Here's how.......
When my voice mail picked up, they hung up. (Hee hee-hee, possibly because of my trick, below. I’m just on this site to see who was calling, if I can. I think this call came as a result of an on-line survey I completed. I always give out my magic jack number when there is no option to NOT give one -and, of course, I NEVER answer that phone! If a caller gets past my announcement and leaves a message, I get an email with a *.wav attachement) - - - See below on the "fix" for this problem.
The law has no teeth! Except for state lists (see below) reporting them ANYWHERE won't stop the calls. However, this trick has worked very well for me. Sometimes it takes two or three incoming calls before it "takes.” You have to warn your friends and business contacts not to be fooled, and you MUST let ALL unknown numbers go to voice mail. Find a telephone number that gives you that tone and message that says, "The number you have reached" (is out of service) or Google "Special Information Tones” for on-line sources. I found a good one at http://www.yourhomenow.com/sit.html). Record the tone and the first part of the message – preferably the Jane Barbie voice, you are probably familiar with. Then put it in the front of your voice mail greeting, like this: VM answers, plays tones and “The number you have reached", then insert a short pause- that's important. Then, in your own voice, add, "belongs to [your first name]. I'm unavailable right now, please leave your name and number and I'll call you back." The tones and Jane Barbie voice are the key - computerized dialers take your number off their list at the sound of the tones, and human telemarketers are often fooled into the same action before the Jane Barbie voice ends. I use the sound recorder that comes with Windows. (If not at - All Programs – Accessories – Entertainment - Sound Recorder, it is usually at C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndrec32.exe). I bought a cheap plug in microphone and external speakers to make the recording and then played it into my Voice Mail greeting.
Sadly, there IS no EFFECTIVE legal action you can take - but this is the way it is SUPPOSED to work....
You file a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/)- the link to the "Do Not Call" registry complaint is https://www.donotcall.gov/register/reg.aspx. Then they file your complaint in a database where it sits unheeded until - - - some OTHER law enforcement agency asks them for their data.
The FTC / Do Not Call Registry is a paper tiger with no real teeth. Nothing will be done unless the number becomes an annoyance to one of THEM, or to some congressman or other hi-power individual with "pull". You have to track the offender down, then get some law enforcement agency to sue them in court (you can't do it yourself!). What needs to be done is pester our congress critters until they change the law so that private citizens can sue these people in FEDERAL court. And, of course, unless the court bankrupts and jails them, they will simply change their name and phone number and go back to business as usual.
Also, some rascals USE the "Do-Not-Call Registry" as a SOURCE of numbers to call! This is especially true of so-called charities, politicians, and so-called "survey" folks (or those that PRETEND to be). Again, the law has no teeth! Your complaints just go into an obscure database and molder. Think of the final disposition of "The Ark of the Covenant" in Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark. ALSO, remember that CELL PHONES are automatically “Do-No-Call” numbers, and if you put your cell phone on a Do-Not-Call list, you may be INVITING unwanted calls! (See above).
This alternate trick used to work, but puts you on the other side of the law with some small risk. I used to have a computer program (that died as a result of Y2K) that I could set up to just call and call and call - over and over non-stop, until someone answered, then it sent fax tones, hung up and started over. I programmed it to call the number they were calling ME from - tied up their line (mine too, of course) and reversed the tables. (With the advent of Magic Jack and Vonnage, no long distance charges!) Now THEY had to take ME to court - fat chance, because they KNOW I will counter sue "on the spot" as soon as they identify themselves. (Kind of like a drug dealer calling the cops when he gets robbed!)
One last ray of hope - SOME states have their OWN Do-No-Call registry - if yours is one, get on that list - those states that have teeth in their laws will "Nail" those *&$% (bleep)s
