Answering machine picked up.  message was a recording asking us to hold for next representative.  message cut off.

I answered my mobile phone on the 7th ring.  Call ended as I said Hello.

Called two days ago (see earlier comment), yesterday (I did not answer) and today:
Him: Hello, may I talk to the head of your household?
Me: You have reached a mobile phone.
Him: I am calling from GE Services.
Me: You are calling from GE Services?
...then he hung up.

Unknown number and did not answer the call yesterday.  This man with an Indian accent called again today and I answered the call.  Did not identify any company he was supposedly from. He asked if I knew how much debt I had on my credit cards.   I did not give any information, or say yes to anything, and he laughed and hung up. Pfishing for information.  Hope he gets no bites.

got a call at 7am pdt.  When a person asked for me, I asked who it was, and asked if they knew they were calling me at 7am?  They hung up on me.

They have been calling me a few times and always hang up. this time there is a foreign sounding woman and she said the words "naked naked naked" and hung up.

Do not give out personal information over the phone.

I received a call from this phone number from an individual claiming to represent a US Grant distribution agency.  Unfortunately, this call was on Thanksgiving Day, and of the US bereaucracies closed, grant distributions should be one of them.  He (a man with an Indian accent) already had my address and repeated it to me to verify MY identity.  He then said I had been selected for a grant in the amount of $5000 to be used towards any legal transactions.  He said all I would need to do is provide him with my banking information so that he could deposit the funds directly into my bank account -  BIG FLAG HERE!!!

I asked how I was selected, he couldn't answer.  I asked what the name of the grant was, he said it was a US Grant.  I told him I wasn't familiar with this particular grant , and he said that was my problem for not knowing, that it was a common grant.  I asked if he could send me any information through the mail, he said that they don't have such information, that they do this over the phone.  I asked if he had a website that I could visit, he provided me with Grants.gov, which is a legitimate US website.  I visited the website FAQ and found that Grants.gov declares that it will never ask for personal information, such as social security info or banking info, over the phone.

The man was very insistent on getting my banking info, saying it was necessary so that the money could be transferred.  He said the next day I would be getting a call with a verification number that would mean that it worked.  I told him I didn't have my banking info handy, then he asked for one of my parents bank account info, or a "zero-balance" account.  I told him I was in my car and asked if he could call back another day.

This is completely phony, do not give your info to them.

I got a call from this number today. I never answer any number I donot know because of all the fraud going around. I decided to do a search on the number and I found this page. I am glad I didn't answer the call!!

Called my phone just now.  9:30 EST.  Tuesday morning.  Didn't answer.  No message.  If you want to be left alone, don't answer calls that you don't know (unless it's your business line).  If the call is important the caller will leave a message. That's why we have voicemail.

Just called the number back. "The number you have reached is not a working number... Alltel ___"

i've received NUMEROUS calls from this # & they hang up as soon as i tell them it is NO LONGER CHAD BROWNS #.  i get NUMEROUS calls for this guy to refill his pharmaceutical prescriptions & am OVER it.  i've already filled out the do not call registry to no avail.  the only pleasure i get out of this is being a rude [***] b**ch to these clueless operators but i'm tired of it.  & of course when you dial that # back - it's a fast busy signal...  HOW DO YOU MAKE IT STOP!?!?!?!?

I missed a call from this bogus number, did research and found the service provider was a company called xo communications based in cambridge, ma.  I found a toll free number for xo communications which is 800-421-3872.  The address is 89 Fulkerson St. in Cambridge.  I was told during one call that "XO communications is not responsible for what their customers do or say with the service", however I informed them that when they (XO communications) become aware that a customer is proved to be involved in fraudulant activities that indeed they are liable under FCC regulations and may face penalties.  I asked a "superivsor" to call this 617-224-0808 number and tell them complaints were coming in but was cut-off.  I have much more on this issue but see I am limited on space.

CALLED ABOUT A GRANT,WANTED BANKING INFO.

Missed a call at 12:28 PST from this number, no message, no clue. How very fascinating to find all these other experiences documented on this site.

So far I've been called 3 times today, and I found this site looking for info on this number. At 9:15 a.m. and 10:06 a.m. from 617-224-0808. Then at 11:14 a.m. I was called again from and an unknown ID. All 3 times I answered and a woman with an Indian accent asks to speak with me and she confirms my first and last name. Then she identifies herself as _______ from some health company and asks if my current adress is correct (which it is). She says that she is sending me my new health insurance card. I say "I just got a new card a couple months ago. Why do I need a new one?" She says, "this health insurance will not affect your current insurance." "I will be giving you a confirmation number, I just need to varify that your bank is in...". I say, "they have many branches, but what does that have to do with health insurance?"  Then the line goes dead.

This Indian/Arab accent man has been calling my house as well... asking 4 banking Info saying they are from Medicare. When I told them that they were a fake. They asked if they could F**&^ me.  Thedy must be stopped! Thanks for all of the postings. They help me to move forward. Thanks.
