I got an automated message, supposedly from Cox, regarding a bill.  I haven't had their service in over 2 and a half years and my bills were all paid when I cancelled service.  Instead of calling this number back like the message instructs you to do, I contacted Cox using the contact info on their website.  They looked up my former account and phone number and found that my account was cancelled and no bills are due.  They also had no record of any calls made to me regarding past bills.  This is a scam.

This is cox, they are calling to let you know you're late on your bill.

It's definitely Cox.  If you call the number, it takes you to their customer service.

An actual person from Cox definitely does NOT call you about late payments on your account.

They have an automated system with a recording with normal American accent, that says you need to call Cox Customer Service at a specific number.

I know! I have been late on my Cox bills a bunch of times since "The Great Recession" (Thanks, George Bush! Thanks, Wall Street!).

If you get a call from a live, albeit scum-sucking person from India, who says they are from Cox, report them to the FCC and the Arizona Attorney General's office (speaking of 'scum suckers').

Didn't answer, they left a voice mail saying it was cox communications. Then I Google the number because it sounded fishy like a recorded message, and my account is on auto pay and never received calls from Cox. Google results said scam. Not sure what the heck it was, but my WiFi got hacked immediately following that call. Weird.

I got a text telling me to call this number to avoid interrupted service. Every one else s saying it's Cox. I have never had a Cox account. I don't think it's really Cox.

YES, it is COX calling. Either to tell me my bill is late or they want me to "upgrade".

This is not cox communications - it is a fraudster trying to get your personal information and money by claiming they have an important message for you and requiring your ss# or other personal info.  I called cox directly and they confirmed this was not a call from them and they had no important message for me.
