Got a call from this on my work number.  Whoever had my desk number before me must have put it on an account.  The person said she was with Discover and it was a personal business matter.  She let me go since I wasn't the person she was trying to reach.  Seemed legitimate, but perhaps not based on the above comments.  My advice, always be skeptical!

It's not a scam, but it is a customer harassment technique courtesy of Discover Card.  Last time I was late on a payment they called me 13 times in 2 days.  Today, 5 times before I finally was not in a meeting and could answer.  The computer is set up to dial you regularly until you surrender.  In my case I'd accidentally shorted the payment by $12.  Doesn't matter, they said, the computer will call me until I answer if I am late by one penny.

I told their customer service people that this tactic has caused me to  pay off the card in full so I'd NEVER have to deal with Discover again.  Hard for me as I'm unemployed and behind on lots of bills but this one will be GOOD RIDDANCE.  Lots of credit card companies/banks are doing evil stuff to financially strapped consumers, but this rapid fire phone dialing is the worst tactic I've had to deal with yet.  They are shooting themselves in the foot with this one as I will never go back to Discover now.

No one in my family has discover card, they would call 6 to 10x a day for almost 3 months already, no kidding.... Our phone line is connected to a fax machine so it never goes through.... However, i always notice that they actually hold onto the phone when the fax machine rings for almost 1 min....wonder what are they telling the fax machine hahaha......

Recieved a call yesterday from "Chris" asking for "Louise." (I'm divorced, live alone. My phone number is unlisted.) I told him he had the wrong number and asked that he not call again as I work nights. (This was an 8am call.) He called 5 more times yesterday and then called again this morning, 10am, and woke me up again. Now I'm spending the day calling all over Discover. I'll post whatever info I glean.

They just starting calling my cell phone today.  Caller ID is just the number no name.  Already they have called 4 times and it is only 1:45pm.  I can't wait to keep getting more calls from them Its so exciting. Ha.  I did pick the phone up once and was completely silent for about 20 seconds and I heard nothing in the background. Must have been a computer calling.  I'm never late on payments.  It would be nice if you could forward your phone directly to the FBI. Providing that no one else was going to call you.  There number would show up on caller ID at the FBI.  Of course the FBI could find out your number as well.  I wonder what there procedure is for getting calls from computers would be?  Of course if you did some research and found out who is behind this number.  You could really have fun by spoofing (Faking) your number through an open source PBX like Asterisk.  You could make your number anything you want.  Let the games begin ha. That may be illegal but never the less so fun to think about. Gotta go there calling again and I dont want to miss this.

Its Discover I was 4 days late on my payment. I paid 2 days ago still getting calls. I've spoke to someone yesterday and today told them I paid. Thay are still calling. I will cancel my cable for 2 months and make other cutbacks to pay them off. They just lost my business

They call on the average of 5x aday. They leave a message to call back for I have won 300 dollars. I have not returned their calls due to so much fraud going on.

These people will not stop calling me! They mostly call before 9 am and on Sundays. At first I got a lot of hang ups then not telling me why they were calling. Then telling me I skipped a payment. I have not skipped any payments. I have asked them to stop and they don't. I turned them into the FTC and the FCC. Next I guess I will have to press harressment charges with the athorities. Any suggustions?

Called DISCOVER, 1-800-347-2683, enter "0" to talk with an operator and explain to them that you don't have a DISCOVER account and want the phone calls to stop.  They asked for my name and phone number that was being called and the operator called their Collections Dept and my number was on two different accounts in their system.  They removed my number from their system and said that I should not receive anymore calls after 24 hrs (after their database updates and cycles through).

I've been receiving calls from this number on my home phone and cell phone all day, every day for a week now.  They are becoming more frequent.  Doesn't matter time or day -- 8:00AM on Sunday...9PM at night.  I don't answer.  I do have Discover Card but I have been making payments.

This number calls my cell and office everyday a couple of times a day, I don't answer. How can I stop this? No message is every left.

it is Discover. I called the number posted by Ben above and they said they would take me off the list.

This is scam because they are asking you for your personal information such as address, phone number, or date of birth. Do not be tempted by their threatening tactics. Please report it to the FBI or FTC.

Someone calls from this number almost daily at my work, and never leaves a message.  Francis @UCB finally left a message yesterday with a return # 800-210-0358.  I called her back and they are a debt collector for Citibank.  Not my debt, told them to not call me at my work phone again.

I get a call from this number and it says " this is an important message, please hold to hear it" i hang up right after that.

yea same thing here i was sleeping and all of the sudden i hear the phone ring i answer it says hold. and then a lady answers asking for my dad but he changed numbers and i got his old number. they must of called him and he didnt answer so now they wont stop calling me its really annoying.

I am going crazy with this number calling every single day and night. I hang up and they keep calling. Do not leave messages. I have told them in the past they have the wrong number because they were asking for a name that I cannot even pronounce or remember. Of course, it was not my name.

I don't know why they do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
