    1-630-505-3008 calling repeatedly.

I suspect there is more to this than just their computer doing blind calls for a 'survey'. As someone else suggested - by answering, you are in effect confirming your number as being valid, which would only make you more of a target in the future. Don't answer - don't call back.

Also, some of these calls are schemes to get you to dial them - and only after you receive a bill for an unauthorized long distance call will you know you've been hit in the wallet. They can route your call to use their long distance service, and bounce you from country to country, meaning they can run the bill up to whatever amount they like.

Usually, however, they resist being greedy, and keep the charges under, say, USD$10.00 or USD$20.00 in the hopes the fees will go unnoticed. Enough people ignore smaller charges, and when hundreds of people a day fall for the scam, those little charges add up. In addition, how much trouble are you going to go thru to fight a $5.68 phone charge, especially if you are one of those busy types that makes several long distance calls a day.

This way, the scammers make money not only off of your use of their LD phone services, they also have a freshly validated phone number, which is prime information on today's market. Easily sold and brings top dollar.

Because these calls are dialed by a computer, it is easy for the crooks to hassle large numbers of people with very little staff and investment in equipment. There is not much that can be done but to use caller ID and ignore the call. Don't pick up! Unplug the phone line long enough to cut the call, or wait for it to stop ringing - the good news is the computer doing the dialing won't let it ring for more than two or three times. It is easier to flag your call as a miss, and simply dial the next number...redialing yours later.

Makes you wonder why caller-ID is so easy to enable, while call-blocking seems a bit more difficult. The phone companies sell guns and ammo to both sides in this war. If they made it easy for the consumer to fight back, they'd lose half their market...

These calls from Kantar OPS are annoying. It makes you wonder what the heck is going on. Someone needs to report this to the FBI.

this ILLEGAL call was made again today.  I will not be speaking to them.  I have heard of scams where, if one answers the call, they are able to somehow use  the persons' phone to make costly long distance calls.  I would not talk to these people, if I were you.

    Don't yell at me!
My story is a little different. I get many calls "regarding" 6305053008 Kantar OPS. The first 7 #s of this phone # is my local cel #. After many of our local people receive a call from this # or find the # on their caller ID they call the # back. They don't realize it's a long distance # (630/505-3008). They dial the # just as they see it on their caller ID not realizing that after dialing the first 7 #s that the phone already starts to ring. Many calling are not happy for reasons such as: the hour the call came through, the type of questions they were asked, many say that when they answer - no one answers them, the amount of times the# showed on their caller ID over a period of days, and so forth. So when they call back the number most times they are pretty nasty & yelling at me, or leaving nasty messages on my voice mail, to stop calling them. When I finally manage to get a word in and explain that it is not me but instead a long distance # and that they did not dial the "1" they apologize, some don't believe. My local phone company says there is nothing they can do.  I decided to research this on line and found a bunch of stuff on this#. I will now just give the calling parties the information so they can look it up and see for themselves.

I received a call from this number today at 3:07.  I noticed the name on the ID and did not know who it was but answered it.  I said 'Hello' several times but no one responsed.  When I googled the number I finally got to this site.  I will not answer this number again but will keep track of how often they call.  Like others that have responsed I am also on the No-call list.

Just got a call from these people. They're doing an "opinion survey". I told the lady to take me off the call list and she said, "there is not a do not call list."
I said, "I get calls from you guys all of the time, I see the number on my caller id a number of times throughout the week. Take me off your list.
She said, "We don't have a list, our numbers are randomly generated from a computer."

I said, "So put me on a do not call list, block my number."

    WTF??!???!

These people have called my number 7 times in the last 45 minutes. I will not answer the phone from a number I don't recognize. After the first 4 I thought it must be an emergency, then I goggled the number and got this sight. Thank everyone for posting.

The calls are surveys for market research.  They do not sell your number.  It is not some sort of scam to extort money from you.  If you think that then you are an idiot.  The reason you gets calls despite being on a no call list is because they aren't selling anything.  It's for research which is how they get around it.  You would know that if you actual read the stipulations of the no call list.  Here it is to reiterate for you:  If I register my number on the National Do Not Call Registry, will it stop all telemarketing calls?
No. Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Because of limitations in the jurisdiction of the FTC and FCC, calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors would still be permitted, as would calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship, or those to whom you’ve provided express agreement in writing to receive their calls.

So calling the police for this number will get you no where.  Kantar Ops is not breaking any laws.  It's a waste of your time and that of law enforcement.  This company has been doing market research for 30 years, you sure aren't going to stop them no matter how hard you try.

The numbers are randomly generate by a computer.  Typically based on geographic location.  If you don't answer, your number stays in the available pool to be called again.  If the pool of numbers are low then you will get multiple calls.  The people on the other end have no control of any "list".  They sit in front of a dummy terminal and key in your responses to the survey.  If you won't talk to them they move on to the next person.

Being scared or afraid to answer the phone will just increase your chances of getting called back.  Tell them you work for any company of your chosing that is under their parent company called WPP.  They will then leave you alone as you can't answer their surveys.

Also the reason no one is immediately on the other end is because a computer is actually dialing your number.  When you pick up the call gets shuffled to the next available person.  This process takes a little time for the person to get on the other end.

Calling the number back just gets you to a recording in Naperville, IL.  The people calling you are far from Naperville, IL.  You could be called from any one of a number of locations across the US and Canada.  Just because your ID displays a number in Naperville, IL does not mean that is where the call is originating from.

KANTAR OPS has called me more than I can remember.  It keeps coming up on my caller ID.  The latest was last night at 8:44 p.m. central standard time. I never answer and I wish they would go away.  Looks like after repeatedly calling my number they would give up but apparently not.  I am on the no call list also.

Getting this call several times a week.  Even on weekend evenings. Finally answered it out of exhasperation tonight but no reply. Perhaps my voice did not trigger the call to switch to person placing the call.
