I signed on to T-mobile.com today for the first time since who knows when... and about three hours later, I got one of these text messages for datehop.net, my lovely lady was identified as "dlasehl" Thanks for setting up this discussion as it saved me the grief of actually going to the datehop page to verify that this is total BS. 15 minutes after recieving the text, I also recieved a pre-recorded auto dial call promising some vacation. The number which dialed was 860-216-2292. That is a conneticut area code for anybody who was curious. My phone has a Pennsylvania area code however. So far no other issues, I hope it stays this way.

    mad as hell
My entire family has T-Mobile and every one of us has received some variation of this same message.  T-Mobile has a filter block to keep messages from specific websites or email addresses from coming to your phone, but it is currently unavailable on their website.  I called t-Mobile and raised hell because my husband and I don't pay for the text option on our lines and are having to pay for each of these texts we receive!  I told them that from what I read on this site, it appears that someone has gotten hold of their customer telephone listings and is sending out mass texts to everyone.  They informed me that they don't do any kind of investigating on behalf of their customers in this type of situation, so I guess that tells you how far they will go to protect the customer.  They did say that in August when their text rates will raise from 15 cents to 20 cents per message, they are adding a feature to block ALL text messages except T-Mobile and emergency texts, which are free.  Who do you complain to about this type of criminal activity?  It is being done on a large enough scale that the telecommunications organizations (government or otherwise) should be investigating.

    mad as hell
Did some checking and all of you that have posted complaints here need to go to FCC.org and file a complaint about this - there is an online form provided and electronic submission.  I urge all of you to file a complaint and maybe the FCC will clamp down on this worthless piece of criminal behavior!

Well I received a text from the 5000 number and it appears to be someone that knows my husband or I that is doing this online.  From what I have found out its not liked to one specific website.  My sister in law has also received a message with this number and they were talking about her life directly so any individual could send this.  T-Mobile also told me that you can block the individual 5000 number by entering in the spam filter through your tmobile online account.

Received a text message from ginlevin saying that this person got my number from a friend but bets I can't guess who it is and then gives me a dating site to look them up on. Oddly after recieving this text I kept getting phone calls with no one on the other end that didn't have a number. I am a tmobile customer as well and am just as irritated as everyone else.

I got this text message today from 5000 and just want to say that it's not right for who ever did this. It said it got my number from a friend(juliejewel). What went through my mind in the first place is what friend of MINE would just give my number like that to just anybody, and second, it's kind of creepy that a total stranger out their knows your phone number. I have some what chest problems and the last thing I need is this kind of crap on my chest.

spammers are just using <phone_number>@tmomail.net to spam your cell phone

i got the fake secret admirer text as well re: <some_identifier>.dating-pod.com

i would not go to that website because the spammer most likely stored your phone number with that identifier in its database, and then when someone just happens to go to <identifier>.dating-pod.com he knows that you got his text message and followed up on it (so will be more likely to use it again in the future)

dating-pod.com just seems to redirect to that friendjungle site, which may or may not be culpable

runing a whois search on dating-pod.com informs you that some d00d in costa rica allegedly owns that domain name and it resolves to this ip address:  85.234.133.55

that IP address is hosted by a company in Great Britain called "Euroconnex Networks LLP" so if you want to report the spammer and potentially get dating-pod.com shut down you can contact them via email: abuse@euroconnex.net

i doubt it will do anything

This really is dumb. Something needs to be done because I was so confused trying to figure out who it was til I finally looked it up and it took me to friend jungle also.  My story is pretty much the same as everyone elses on here: 2 messages inviting me to see who jaseminer.matchclub.org is from a 5000. ugh! Thanks for starting this discussion because I probably never would of figured it out if I didn't know others got the same  message.

My husband recieved the same text message and I asked him what is going on! He just looked at me with a blank face and I decided to look up this message on line.  I am glad this is just a hoax.  It seems as though someone has nothing better to do but try and cause trouble and text expenses to others.  Whoever you are, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.  You know, you will have to answer for everything you have ever done to others be that good or BAD.
Just a tip -- Grow up and live right!!!

I have no idea who could have gotten my number, but I received a text message as well.  I guess the dating online sites are hurting for people due to how many text messages are being sent out randomly.  I find this funny and yet annoying.
