has been calling us for the past few mornings. have never joined a cd club or dvd club. owe no $ to any one, so can't imagine why they would call here. usually leave piano music.

yep they call me about 3 times a day , every day,  because of a book club i was in,  i sent all books back that i didnt want and they still want me to pay even though i dont have any of the books.  They wont send me anything in the mail either.  i just let them call,  or ill answer it and then hang it up,   or ill let my 8 year old answer it and tell them about his school day or whatever he wants to talk about before i hang it up. Or ill answer it and put the phone right up to my tv and let them hear what im watchin on tv for a few mins then hang up :)

They call me at least 4-5 times a day starting at about 8:30am and never leave a message. I finally picked it up today and a woman on the phone asked for me by name (didn't have my last name correct!) and said that this was regarding a financial matter. As soon as I asked what the financial matter was she hung up on me! How do I make them stop???

I have been reading that there are scams where people are calling saying they are from a collection agency and asking for credit carf info to pay off the debt -- BE CAREFUL!!!

They call me several times daily.  I am not, nor have I ever been a member of a book club, cd club or the like.  It is a scam.  If you are on the National Do Not Call Registry, best you can do is report it EACH and EVERY time they call and hope that once they are caught, they'll incurr a large fine for each instance - so if they rack up on you 15 times a week (multiplied by the millions of others out there) then they'll go down hard.  Also, you should never confirm on the phone who you are (first or last name) as it gives them verification that their information on you is valid.  Best not to answer the phone at all.  Put a call block on them.

I answered once, and they asked for me, I asked who was calling, and the guy (Indian accent) said something really quickly, like TCC or something.

He then proceeded to keep asking to speak to me, but I never acknowledged who I was.

I told him to put me on his no call list; he asked me why I wanted to do that, and I said because I don't want you calling this number anymore.

He said "that's not a good enough reason", to which I replied, "the only reason you need is that I don't want you calling this number anymore". He kept asking for me, and I kept telling him to stop calling me. Finally, I yelled "don't call this number again" and hung up on him.

Since that time, they've been calling at least twice daily.

I have no idea what they want with me. I just tried calling the number to ask, but sat on the phone listening to elevator music for about 10 minutes before I finally hung up. Now, I think it’s probably best if I don’t speak with them at all; confirming my identity may only make things worse.

How they got my number is still a puzzle. It's not listed in my name; it's an extension of the University I attend. So, I have no clue how they'd go about getting it. It’s really not that big of a deal, I just turn the ringer off, as I don’t use that phone much anyway, but it’s still irritating that people like that can harass other people and nothing can be done to stop it.

I refuse to give out my personal information over the phone. If they truly believe they have something on me (which I don't believe they do), they can send it to me in the mail. Otherwise, they can keep wasting their time calling my number and getting no answer.

This whole operation sounds real shady, but there's nothing one can do. It's probably some loser sitting over in India routing a number through New York, calling people trying to scare them into giving out their financial information, and them robbing them blind; nothing but a bunch of criminals and con artists.

Third call from these people.This time call came in on answering service at 1:30 on Friday 3/27/09.
It is a felony in the state of Nevada to make or place harrassing phone calls under state law 201.255. Yes, indeed they ARE breaking the law here and need to be put in jail.
It is also a violation of my right to privacy under the Constitution of The U.S.
These people have undocumented aliens working for them when the Amnesty Bill has not yet gone into law.
Ths nation of Induia should be placed under enemy combatant state as they let Americans die in last armed fight.India has NEVER apologized for this
I WILL not speak to ANYONE that does NOT speak English,and I don't mean pigeon English either,they are in MY Country,SPEAK our language,if I was in their country I would speak their language!
I WANT this company to cease and desist immediately as of 3/28/2009.If not I WILL call the Attorney General of New York nd of Nevada and I will call the INS as they are hiring illegal undocumented aliens from a nation that allowed the murder of U.S citizens.

Received call from my answering service at 8:35 AM Pacific time on 3/31/09.This is a felony in the state of Nevada to make or palce harrassing phone calls under sectiontion 201.255 Onwer can be put in federal prison and have to pay hefty fines. Pleas ecease and desist or face legl consequences. I WILL Cll Attorney General of Nevada and our local law enforcement.

I received a call from 1-646-367-3289 - do not know who it is.  I returned call and a recording stated the Receipent's mailbox is full - goodbye!

What is most annoying is that when you answer the phone and go hello, hello, hello - which is 2 times more than you should have to - they don't even answer and I end up hanging up!

they kep calling me from this number saying I owe them money from doubleday. When I asked about dates, the refuse to give me any more info and get rude with me. They call my cellphone, my home and my work. it is extremely annoying.

I checked with the laws in my state.  Cannot call before 8 AM or after 9 PM.  Call this morning at 7:59 AM.  I have tried calling the number back.  When I answer I get dead air then someone with an Indian voice asking for someone who doesn't live here.  I try telling them they are dialing wrong number.  Consumer Protection says they probably are misreading number or someone made a typo on the call list.  No real way I can get them to stop calling since they believe I am the jerk who has the issue.  Who the **blank** are they anyway?  I am NOT the person they are looking for but they won't stop calling.

I just had this phone call and I answered it, played music then an indian accent male indicated that I owe 69 for a book club. I did not order any books for a book club, if I did it would have been 10 days ago. He asked if I was going to take care of it, I said no. He said you did not fulfil your agreement, I said send something in writing. He said are you willing to take care fo this bill today. I said No. He said Lovely and hung up.
So, who knows what will happen now, but I do not owe anything on this.

I too have received numerous calls from this number.  IT IS A SCAM!!! I called them back to see why they keep calling me and the guy told me it was regarding a collection for books I had bought.  So I told him I'm not in a book club and he said someone in my house must have bought them then since they had my name and address.  So I asked what address they have on file and he rattled off some wierd address, which I've never lived at.  I asked what city that address is in and he hung up on me.  They stopped calling for a couple months but have started calling again today.

I got a call from 646-367-3289. The man asked for my wife. When I told him she was not home, he asked if I could "help him with her cell number". I asked "Why would I give you my wifes cell number?"....he hung up on me!!!

These people are ridiculous! I get a call from them at least twice a day. I finally talked to someone today- this has to be a joke. They want a credit card number from me to pay for some debt to a book club? Nice try. The guy I spoke to said his name was Jim Austin. My a**. He had the thickest Indian accent. His name was definitely not Jim. There is no reason to lie like that. If they're going to start our conversation by lying to me, they can't expect me to give them my credit card number. They wouldn't get it in any case, but at least they wouldn't sound quite as absurd.

Keeps calling no one there number calls many times every day

HAve no clue who this is. The music is terrible and then there is an indian accented guy asking for me. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

I get these calls askign for my husband...OK DUH my dh has a freakin' job and works days..um were normal!!..LOL. AParantly they think he sits on his butt and waits for them to call. I call them back with a pollite/snooty tone saying who is this...I told them I got a call from a person who was very rude the first guy said yea I know you don't know me I am Kevin from NY is my husband there...NO I said...so I asked what is this about? He refused to give me some answers...so I call back and got another man speaking with yes a very heavy indian accent too..so I was polite to him as he was to me..I said my husband works during the days I'm not authorized to give out his work number but can you not call before 6pm? He said yes ma'm...wow nice, so if this keeps up and they call I am going to threaten phone harrassment.. I have two kids for pete's sake and can't be on the phone. My names are not on the card becaus these were like from before we met when he got the cards or whatever...so it's not my darn fault..whatver...anyways hopefully the nice man would stop calling..

I started getting these calls several weeks ago at 8:04 AM while I was off sick and when I said do you know what time it is. He replied we are permitted to call after 8. I then told him not to call again.  I now am getting them everyday at 8 Am and again at 1 PM with no messages left. I called them back and when they asked what number I had been called at I hung up.  They immediately called me back, but I used my little "screamer" that puts out an ear piercing sound. If they happen to call when I'm home, they call the siren in their ear again.  Enough is enough - this is harassment !!!
