Avoid these people at all costs.  They cost me $4900 before I found out it was a complete scam.  Now working with the AG's of NY and ME to bring some light on these scammers.  They also seem to go by ACT Group.

Howard Nestler is running a well run sting operation. Operating under different names, Howard Jay, Hal Jacobs, Hal James and now Hal Jones. His referrals are fake; Scott Stogebauer is Scott Stevens the client advocate when things go wrong. Executive Options is now operating as ACT. ACT, Executive Options, The Executive Club are all incorporated in DE, and are registered with the BBB in ME. and they all claim to be registered business with the BBB since 1988. Should that not be illegal?

What they appear to be doing is playing a shell game with their BBB profile.  As of right now the ACT profile has been changed to WIN.  Seems to have happened after I put a complaint in on them.  The WIN profile isnt fully created yet so you cant log a complaint on it.  As soon as it is I'm moving my complaint to that profile.  Also interesting is if you do a search on the BBB site of all businesses at that address.  A few more pop up like: Henderson James Group, Henderson Pierson Group, and Rupert Vanderbottom, LLC.  Some of these have already filed Chapter 7.

A definite PHONEY. He did nothing but build a so-called Executive Profile, which I told him I really did not need, but upon which he insisted. That was his only deliverable.
Tried to get by credit card company to back out the charges, but it became :he said," "said," and they referred me to the Better Business Bureau. Whooppeee!

Howard Nestler is Hal Jones, Hal James, and Howard Jay. Like a chamelon he changes his name to protect his identity. Why? Because the service he sells is a Scam.

Check the Consumer Complaints, Ripp Off Reports and Blogs before you become a victim. By the time you catch up with guy he has already changed his identity.

Slippery, with no shame or conscious he preys on the unsuspecting and gullible. He is an expert in telling you what you want to hear, getting your money and changing his identity.  He appears to be operating somewhere out of New Jersey and claims a business address in NYC. The office is a front- it does not exist, his referrals are fake; Scott Stoegbauer the referral you spoke with turns into Scott Stephens when you become a client.

The best zinger is he claims a perfect A+ rating with the BBB in ME. When you check the BBB listings in ME all the alias (ACT/The Executive Club/Executive Options) appear, all incorprated in DE. This is not a coincidence, it is a sting, a charade of smoke and mirrors.  

Mr. Nestler (Hal) has a payroll of crooks to support so he has to move quickly. Be careful and beware, Bernie Madoff has nothing on this guy.

Been down the same road.  Got a screening call that set up an appointment with Bob Bastion at 941-421-5296.  He said the owner of the company, Hank Green, was the force behind the 97% success rate.  Sent me to a website at http://www.webrandyou.net.  Also, gave me three "references"  Scott Stone,  Allen Irving, and Barry Towsen.  The last one I called was Scott Stone who said that his was an officer in a public company...but no record of him at the SEC.  I then started digging for his phone number and found that it was listed to a Scott Stoegbauer in Gilbert AZ.    

Quoted me $6900 a "marketing plan". I sent Bob Bastion an email back.  Want to bet I don't hear back?

Company charges up-front fee for career placement.  FAQ's are smoke & mirrors, a good reputable company will be found on the internet with positive reviews, etc.  Don't be foolish and throw good hard earned money away based on a promise.  There are extremely to many RED FLAGS to list so use your own good judgment.  

FREE services such as monster, CareerBuilder, sixfigures, theladder, indeed, hotjobs, and other available services will help you obtain career placement- these are all way more advanced than an individual or group locating a high end career.

Recruiters, Staffing Agencies, Temp Agencies, get paid when they secure career placement for a client.  This obviously makes much more sense- because these firms are illegitimate.

Received call from Diane Dawson from WIN re Executive Search position--$5900 upfront fee for 2-year marketing/executive placement deal.  She gave me 2 references Tom Miller 520-329-3902 and Russ Anderson 734-506-8801.  Thanks to this site and looking up those 2 phone numbers I did not fall for the scam.    Be careful--she's good and has an answer for everything you may ask.

Man these are guys are slimy as eels!!!  Glad I searched the reference numbers!  The interviewer goes by the name Diane Lewis, 914-455-4201.  She gave me 2 references: Dave Johnson, 339-545-5161 and Russ Anderson, 734-506-8801.  What a scam!  Ditto to comments above from Attempted Scam.
