Got a call from Optima Communications (Vancouver) claiming they represented Scotia Bank. Weird.

Called twice and I said, I am having dinner, please call back. And then I leave it in the black list

Ya it's Scotia Financial trying to sell you life insurance.

I keep getting sick of this number calling all the time but no message.6472883817.And getting sick of it

It's Scotia Financial "calling on behalf of Scotibank". We have accounts there and they are always trying to hit us up to buy insurance. They are begining to make me want to change banks.

I saw this number a few times ... never answered.

I decided to this time for some reason. I picked up the phone and then it started ringing as if I had placed the call.

I don't know if it's possible to somehow use this method to call another number?

But whatever. Someone said it's calling from Scotia Financial as I would never get calls from this until I opened an account with them a few months ago. I will be closing my account soon.

Some firm calling in behalf of Scotia bank, listened for about 5 min while I was busy doing something, then said no thanks.  They still call.  Just selling insurance or something.

hello my name is roy macdoanld i don't like to say this but every time i am out side doing something or away from the house that number keeps coming up its getting to me now i am going to have something Done about it soon.

This number started calling me after I closed my Scotia account. They always call around dinner time and never leave a message.

I have no account with Scotia bank or whatever and there was no Scotia bank name to it on my phone, also I just got my new cell phone and they already called, is someone selling the phone numbers to telemarketers or they just dialing whatever they can come up with randomly? Anyway, spam, I am not going to answer and if I have time I will report it, for now will just try to block it for good.

D.N.C. list only applies if you don't already do business with that company.  Once you have ever had a financial transaction with them, they're allowed to call you.  Frustrating isn't it.

Stop Calling

i had an issue with this number calling me as well. upon finding this forum i called my bank and requested that they check my account and stop all 3rd party calling. we'll see if it makes it stop

same here; at first identified as optima something or rather than started calling and hanging up as i picked up (creepy) and left no messages when I did not pick up (banks always leave a message). Called Scotiabank asked that calls be stopped apparently may take a while for my number to register as do not call. Not holding my breath; next time I get this call going to call Scotia and tell them I'm moving my account somewhere else.

I just got a call from this number on my cell...my caller ID said it was from New Zealand.I am reading from others that it is a number associated with Scotiabank which make sense because they are always trying to get me to to take out insurance..........I did not answer.

Telling me that I"m okayed for a $15,000 line of credit.
Told me that at bank today.
May take it and party.
Doctor told me 4 weeks ago that I'm dying.
May as well go out in a blaze of glory.

Got a call, didn't answer. Called it back and it's A company calling on the behalf of Scotia Life Financial... Has nothing to do with being behind on any payments. Scotia life financial is insurance....
