I received my first text message today 2/4/09 from 654-654 predicto.com. Like most people on this forum I did not sign up for this service, nor any ringtone service. I called a Verizon representative and they will now block ALL incoming text messages from them, and all other unscrupulous operators. I then called 800-360-0518 and spoke with a representative who removed my number from their calling(texting) list and stated I will not be charged for the service. Verizon also informed me that they will remove any charges associated with 654-654. I hope this helps some of you.

I just replied Stop Quit end cancel unsubscribe and they sent me a user id that I never asked for, and a customer service number 888-555-1212

I'm with Centennial and I got charges $9.99 SMS download fees

ughhhh. i never signed up for any of this [***] and they wont leave me alone. i got yelled at by my mom that im doing something on it and didnt cancel it before but i didnt do a thing. wtf.

I was going through my T-Mobile bill today and saw a line item for Premium Services. I clicked the link and it brought up an item on my wife’s cell phone that read:

10/10/08 PredictoMobile 9:28 AM 654654 PredictoMobile 9.99 9.99

Immediately I googled it and found out it was some crazy survey, text message service thing. I called up T-Mobile right away and spoke to a friendly rep and as soon as I said the word “PredictoMobile” he said, “uh oh.” Every so often you get a scam that sweeps the industry and it appears that PredictoMobile is the latest one. Their text message # is 654654 and if you text the word STOP to that number it will cancel your account.

I’ve done some checking into them. One of the things they offer you is a chance to win $50,000. All it costs you is $9.99 per month and you get to answer all kinds of surveys. Now, if you are like me then that doesn’t sound like much fun at all. The last thing I need to is to get bugged by my cell phone wanting me to answer some kind of survey. Of course, if you are the kind of person who likes to share their opinion with everyone then by all means, click here, and get started!

I’ve also read online where just by opening a text message from them it could sign you up for their service. I’m not sure how that works, but I’ve seen it on a few sites online.

I don’t like surveys, nor do I like forwards, so I called them up after speaking with T-Mobile and tried to cancel the service. I spoke to a lady who called herself Ashlee Parker (I doubt it) and informed her I wanted to cancel. She asked me to be patient while she pulled up my info. She said as she was pulling up my account that she would like to share with me some info about the service. I quickly interupted her by saying, “I don’t want be informed abou the service.” Instead of arguing with me, she stoppped. I thought that was nice. She then informed me that she was canceling the service and removing me from the opportunity to win $50,000. I expressed to her that I was fine with that and could live without the money. I got the cancelation confirmation number from her and wished her a good day.

All in all it took about 30 minutes from the time I first found out about the charge to the end of the conversation with Ashlee Parker. I also called my wife and asked her to text STOP to 654654 and she did. Just to be on the safe side I thought that was a good idea.

So, in the future, if you see 654654 PredictoMobile on your bill and a charge for $9.99, the best way to handle it is:

1. Call your cell phone company. They’ll immediately credit you for it if they are a good company.

2. Text STOP to 654654

3. Call PredictoMobile at 1-800-360-0518 and close your account with them.

I would like to be off your calling list. Ihit the wrong button by mistake and would notlike to be charged 9.99 per month for this feature that i would never use. So please take me off your call list. Thank you. i am sorry if this caused you any confussion.

I am getting SMS from this 654654 and they are charging me $9.99 for services I have not requested. This number is a SCAM. If you send STOP to the number, it just allows them to confirm that they got the number right and its not good. The best way (I guess) is, call your service provider and talk to them.

I have a $9.99 charge on my bill from Predicto. I also texted STOP to 654654 and got following text back: Sorry to see you go! Here's ur online USER ID to view ur loyalty points @ Predicto.com.Q's: 800-360-0518
What loyalty points? How can you be loyal to something that you didn't sign up for? SCAM!

PredictoMobile is legally ripping people off.

You can call 800.360.0518 to stop this service, or text STOP to 654654.  This does work and you won't be charged for that text.  Be sure to remove any signatures - all you want in the text is STOP.

Here's one way they do this scam: you'll receive a text saying you've been entered for a $50k grand prize, just reply with 654654. Of course, when you do this you've signed up for their so-called service. Another way they do it is through on-line survey's.

Words to the wise:
- ANY 5 or 6 digit texting number is a charge, and likely a subscription!
- Never reply with to any unsolicited text!
- Never give out your personal info unless you've read the FINE PRINT (Terms and Conditions)
- Call your service and request purchase block. This free service stops any unathorized charges from showing up on your bill, unless you explictly put in the pin number issued you by your wireless service. You're pin will still allow you to purchase ringtones, songs, etc., but stops ripoff artists like Pridicto from billing you. If you're service doesn't have this, switch to AT&T; not only did they set that up for me, but they disputed the two months of Predicto service. I suggest you also demand that your service make this a default setup for all phones.

I called our phone service provider and they gave me an email address and a phone number.  The email address for these people is support@predicto.com.  The phone number is 800-360-0518.  I told them that they were texting my underage child and that I wanted them to credit my account.  They are sending me a check within 7 to 10 days, unsubscribing her from the program and removing her number from their list.  I could have also texted a message stating stop, unsubscribe to 654654, but that wouldn't have gotten my refund! I hope that this helps save someone else out there.

I just texted "stop" and instantly received the following message "Sorry to see you go! Here's ur online USER ID ######## to view ur loyalty points @ Predicto.com.  Ur cell # can't be used to login.  Q's: 800-360-0518"

Just received a second message "you have been unsubscribed from Predicto. There is no charge for this message.  You will receive no further charges or texts.  Questions: 800-360-0518.

Let's hope this sticks.

happened to me too. never gave my number to anybody that is in contact with this company...people like this should get a life instead of wasting their lives to make the rest of the public miserable and make those of us struggling to pay the bill suffer even more.

does anyone know how to stop additional charges? Verizon told me to call *611 but this is automated and does not help.
