I almost picked up, it's similar to my mom's work phone, but I got no internet hits when I searched to make sure. It might possibly be a legit number-- that's my area code, too-- but I don't recognize it and found no internet hits. Caller Id showed only the phone number.

This is a out going number that appers any time a call is made from the County Of Kern.

I got a call from this number too, but I don't even live in Kern County. So why are the calling?

I got a call from this number yesterday. It was from the Kern County Tax Assessor's office. So the person that said it is an outgoing number is correct. Apparently it could be from anyone in the Kern County courthouse.

When I worked for the phone company these were called trunk lines dedicated to outgoing calls only.  All the county buildings are tied together on one phone system so calls can originate from any of the county buildings, not just the court house or health department.  We just received a call from this number that we suspect came from the public defender's office.

This is an outgoing number for all of Kern County. My call was from IHSS; In Home Support Services. It could be from any department in the county. I got the ladies name but my my phone dropped the call and when I tried to call her back but the recording said it was an outbound number only. Hope this helps.

It is the District Attorney's Office in Kern County. I got a call from this number, and an investigator named Julie Gains.

I got 3 calls in a row from this number today but no msg and I do not pick up calls I don't recognize.

wouldnt county business leave a message? Or any city/state/government. Just seem professional to let you know who the hell you are, especially when it cannot be called back.

Career Services Center, Kern County.. I thought that they had their own number, maybe budget cuts.

I got this call from this number too! I almost didn't pick up, it is a legit number it is from Career Services in Bakersfield.  So if any of you went to career service's center it is just your case worker wanting to know how your job search is going. That is all.

When I get a call from this number, it's from my sister, because she works for Kern County Jail.  ANY division of the state government working for Kern County will show as this number when they call you (not just Career Services Center)

Why would they be calling at 12:02 in the morning is my question?  I did not answer as I was half asleep and don't know anyone who lives in Kern County.

I called for a Juvenile Justice Center -661)868-4270 and was transferred to this number, 661)8682146 without any verification form the person who called me and where exactly she was transferring me to.

dont know who called, or why, its a kern county call from out side land line who is it?
