I posted earlier about these calls.  I have now added the spare cell number to the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY but it takes 31 days before I can file an official complaint.  This is a good site, at least I know who it is now.

Since I am positive we have NO OLD DEBT ,  I really hesitate to call or e-mail these people as I don't want to give them my other numbers & e-mail ! We don't even have old debt & are being bothered!!!!  Debt Avenger above really gave good advice if you do have debt!

I will leave the spare cell out & if I catch them calling I will tell them to remove this number immediately,  verify that we are not who they are looking for, and I will start turning them in to the Attorney General, Commerce, BBB, FTC and anyone else I can think of.

I did call them from the cell & requested that it's number be removed immediately!!!

She asked me if I was ______  _______, (someone I have never heard of) and I told her NO!

She said she would remove the number. I hope this takes care of it.

I am just wondering why this person is calling me.

Portfolio Recovery Service...Says they're collecting on closed account from 1997.  Past statute of limitations and never even belonged to me.  They have no information they can send you.  They purchase old debts and try to collect on them.  Here are other numbers they also call from:

I have blocked these numbers and continue to block every number they call on.

No message can be left; we've turned off answering machine.

i think the way this works they call so many numbers at 1 time and the 1st person to pick up their phone is the lucky person to get to listen to what they have to say the others as long as they don't leave a message they don't have to pay for the call just the unlucky soul who answered 1st
