Call them back, tell them that you are not the person that they are calling for and that they need to remove your number from the list. If they dont report them

I've been getting calls from a variety of numbers, this is the latest. There is either no one on the line, or they say that they are recording this conversation. I asked what type of business these people are & they said hey "handle personal business". I asked what type of personal business & where they got my phone number from. The man hung up on me.

Then I called them back. A woman answered & said that they just talked to a person from my number (mind you my number is a blocked number & I did NOT unblock it!) & gave me the same "we handle personal business". I asked where they got my phone number. She replied, "I don't know".

How "personal" can it be if they don't know where they got my number? I explained that I was trying to get the calls to stop & trying to track down the source, to which she ignored & said, "Didn't you hear me? Your number has been removed from our records" but we don't have control over others that have your number.

Seems to be a phishing scam to me, AS . Could be casing houses to see who's home & when?

Not long ago, records from a number of states (payroll, etc.) were broken into electronically & although this number is identified below as being in Atlanta, GA (Atlanta, Marietta Roswell), I'm guessing is where this number is registered & this was added by whocallsme.com.

These people could be anywhere in the world!

If they request ANY personal information, OR if you get repeated calls from unknown parties that refuse to  identify their name, the business name & their business... a typical ploy is for these people to say they need to "verify your information" (& may or may not even have information from sloppily discarded business or bank information, or have hacked information, so they may know nothing they may know partial information, or they may know the last time you saw your dentist!)

NEVER GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE, NO MATTER IF THEY SAY THEY ARE FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT, ARE WORKING WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT, NO MATTER WHAT THY SAY!

CHECK IT OUT, REPORT IT TO LAW ENFORCEMENT &/OR THE FBI 3C unit, EVEN IF YOU DON'T USE A COMPUTER AS OTHERS WHO USE COMPUTERS, SCHOOLS, YOUR WORKPLACE, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, THE IRS, BANKS, GROCERY STORE DISCOUNT CARDS, ETC. ARE ALL ONLINE!

Theses people are obviously tech savvy, as they knew exactly when the last call was from my number. I'd called back because the man refused to identify what their company was & what they did, and rudely hung up. They have a recording that says (or they will say) the call is being recorded.

Some insurance companies (notably AAA) use these tactics if you've had a claim, or are in litigation. Just don't answer the phone if it is someone you don't know!!!

This is typical of phishing scams! DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION WHATSOEVER and REPORT THEM!!!

THE NEXT CALL COULD BE TO YOUR LOVED ONES WHO MAY HAVE THEIR IDENTITY STOLEN!

IF YOU'VE GIVEN ANYONE ON THE PHONE OR ONLINE ANY BANK INFORMATION, BE SURE TO NOTIFY YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, LOAN AGENCY, CREDIT UNION, BANKS, ETC. AND CHANGE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBERS IN PERSON WITH THOSE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH.

I've been getting calls from a variety of numbers, a loved one also received a call from this same group of people asking about someone else, but it was the same people. Some calls were supposed "bill collectors", that said they were working with law enforcement (law enforcement here happened to be taking a report on these calls when this guy called me back (unfortunately my loved on didn't realize it was a scam as this guy was VERY convincing! (this loved one has a background in IT & had a rough day, gave out my number & the calls haven't stopped, so are likely being shared online & I'm going to have to change my number I'd had for years, other calls were supposedly friends trying to get in touch with so-in-so, others had my real name.

The best policy for a home phone is to have an answering machine so those "real calls" from persons you really know with blocked numbers get a machine with no identifying information whatsoever.

Similar for businesses, although obviously some businesses have to answer any & all calls.

There IS a real "The CBE Group", sadly this doesn't seem to be it.

IF this were a real investor's interest call, your people would have been happy to talk about it without all the hush, hush.

You do have the wrong number, yet you guy keep calling! I'm listed on the "Do Not Call" registry & your CBE Group keeps showing up on my caller ID.

I can say this.  If this is how your employees speak with people on the phone, they don't check the legitimacy of a person's phone number, or for updates, are unprofessional and rude; I'm not interested in your stock or having it in a mutual fund, BUT, the call is apparently from a cell phone (so another recipient of your calls says.) Did you clone, find or just steal a CBE employee's phone?

Ah wait, another recipient said that you knew they'd just called, so you have a laptop & are making VoIP calls & spoofing them?

CBE (Cooper) is an electronics company. Are you their competition or something?

Real professionals identify their company & state their business, they don't phish for information or make call after call when they've been told they have the wrong number.

CLEARLY this is NOT anyone from CBE, but may be a competitor using a spoofed phone, or perhaps just got a burner & put it in that name.

Seriously?  Get a real job!

The SEC & perhaps FBI might be interested in this person/people, as there is a legitimate, publicly traded company in an area close by in Atlanta & other cities nearby.

Reportedly phishing has been going on with this number for years & there appears to be no less than 14 open case going on apparently now against the registrant of this phone who is:
MCIMETRO ACCESS TRANSMISSION SERVICES LLC.
Apparently this "company" is run under a lot of DBAs, which has scam written all over it, especially using the acronym for a publicly traded company that is in the area.

I wonder when they'll catch on & figure out that you're using their name? Find it in an investment magazine & rip it off did you? Interesting.

If anyone's interested in bothering with these scum, here's some info that might help you figure out who these phishers & the DA's office should have info on the company. Might make a class case against them too, in addition to the other cases under many names... To figure out who to serve, try to Attorney General's office in GA for this number, but many of us know there are others.

These people look prison bound.

Never leave message, call 4+ times daily, answered 2x & got nothing

They keep calling me and will not leave a message. I do not owe anyone money so its not because of an accrued debt.

They are calling several times a day and not leaving a message...it has gotten to the point of harrassment.

Keeps calling my number

I have been receiving calls from this number the past two days.   They will not leave messages.   When I answer they start asking me to verify my personal information but refuse to identify why they are calling me.   I will not give my personal information to them as they cannot bother to tell me what they want.   When I inform them of this they say they will call me back later.   The result will not change if they cant tell me why they are calling me I am not verifying anything with them.

They are a debt collector!!!!!!

I've received calls from this number since getting this new phone & number over 6 months ago. No voice mail message is left. Calls several times a day in blocks of days.  I've blocked this number, but need to block it again. CBE is a collection company trying to contact the previous owner of this number.  I refuse to answer their calls for fear of more harassment.

Call  at least 3 times a day but don't leave a message.
