    Bloody nuisance!

I'm getting seriously fed up of recieving texts asking if I want to recieve messagess from some lude and perverse plonker! I wish these phone companies would take a running jump of a cliff. If I was so perverse as to want these texts I'd bloody well ring up and ask for them, rather than needing some no doubt obese / stupid / ugly woman texting me.

It should automatically be banned from companies selling on mobile numbers to these call centres!

The opt out isn't clear enough, if anything, you should have to opt in if you want these!

This company have been texting my 12 yr old son and for each text he replied STOP to as directed, they charged me £3 . They did this 11 times in one day and even if he didnt respond they charged me , surely this is illegal - I cant afford now to pay the bill . Although I have monthly contract as this is premium rate and went way over my sons normal allowance , it was capped by Tesco mobile and his phone barred . I have spoken to them and there's nothing they can do except change his number  .Its disgusting this goes on - its robbery surely !! Im sooo ANGRY as I only receive benefit , its cost me dear .

I have asked T-mobile to block this which they have. However the company are still sending me unwanted grubby messages.  I am going to go to the police as I have not asked for this service and followed all steps to block them, sent stop and phoned their customer services. What they are now doing is illegal as they cannot force a service onto you. Report them to the police for stealing or fraud as essentially that is what they are doing. They are committing fraud as you have not asked for the service and ignoring all actions taken to stop it and they are stealing from you as they are billin you for a service you do not want!

I was trying to text radio 1 and sent the text to 81188 instead of 81199 which is there number. Ever since I have been receiving texts from 69169 and 84726. Just received this text:

MSGFREE: I have a great [***], do you like it when u have something to grab hold off TXT SPANK to 69169 OPTOUT SND STOP PRVTH C/S 01908260255 A£1.50msg

What does PRVTH and c/s even mean? Can't find any explanation for these abbreviations online. I've text stop to the 01908260255 number but they haven't stopped. It's doin my head in!

What if a young child typed the wrong number in trying to text bbc radio 1 and started getting these incredibly rude texts? It's disgusting!

See my message on whocallsme that I posted for another person in the same predicament from a different scam. To locate it, do a reverse number search for 447773744001. I think you are being scammed by a third-party provider and my post will give you the information to delete the texts safely and block access to your phone.

This actually happened to me - my 10 year old son texted 81188 instead of 81199, and has been receiving horrible texts for the last few days. I traced the company, they are called Telemedia Hub, I emailed the managing director - nigel@telemediahub.co.uk, threatened with the police, and within 24 hours I had received a big apology and a guarantee that my number had now been blocked, he is also looking into losing the 81188 number as it is so close to the Radio One number.

Thanks for this Jo. I have had exactly the same problem and have been receiving lude texts from 84724 and 69169... was told by PhonePay Plus to text STOP ALL back to them but this didn't help and in fact I was charged for those texts. I've emailed 'Nigel' so hope I have the same outcome.

I've just submitted a complaint about these guys to the PhonePay Plus people, just waiting to hear back now.  I was also sending a text message to Radio 1 and misdialled, and they have not stopped texting me every day for a month now with explicit sexual content.  I've also started sending all their texts onto the spam report line for my network provider (if you are Orange you can forward them for free to 7726 to report them).

You can make a complaint to PhonePay Plus (the regulator for premium rate phone numbers) here:
    http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/For-the-Public/Make-a-complaint.aspx

Hopefully the more people that complain the more they will chase them up.

c/s stands for their 'customer service' number.  I've tried ringing several times but it alway goes to their answerphone.  I've left messages, but no surprise they haven't called back.  Has anyone managed to get rid of them without changing your number?

Hi I have been told about this site today and thought I would take a look. My name is Nigel Barnes and my company owns the short code 69169. From your entries I can see that you been having some problems. I am sorry that you have had problems but most of these have originated through consumer mis-dials to one of our other codes 81188. We mainly provide dating and adult chat services. We do not wish to offend or promote to anyone who is not interested in our services. Unfortunately it is not possible to programme computers against consumer mis-dials so we have added a manual option for operators to flag up possible errors. We do not buy consumer lists or sell data.

Any messages left on the helpline 01908 260 255 will be checked and any requested stops actioned. If you find it more convenient you can send a stop request by e-mail to admin@telemediahub.co.uk or you can txt stop requests to 07921 677 657.

I hope this additional contact information is helpful should you have any further problems.

    Regards, Nigel.
