I have had texts from these and sent 'stop' but am still getting charged £4.50 a received message - my normal bill should only be £10 but last month it was £33!  I called Virgin but they don't seem bothered.  It is from a lotto results - any ideas as to what I should  do?  I am on contract with Virgin.

Same as everybody else. I have been ripped off £4.50 at least 4 times. Luckily, as my mobile is PAYG, I get a message from Virgin Media. when the text message cannot come through, when my credit is less than £4.50!! I have now blocked both this number and 85200, so hopefully I won't get any moe

I've had the same problem as everyone else!!!  £49.50 and counting!!!  I'm with Orange, and on a £10 contract, and noticed my bills for too much.  I rang them, they told me about this con, I never signed up to it!!!

Really please though, Orange have said they will refund me my money!!!  I've texted STOP to 85200 a couple of times to make sure and I also rang 0870803 2340, you have to put in your mobile number and then confirm to stop the texts.  I hope that this will work, but i'm not sure.

Good on Orange though, they can't stop the number as apparently the same thing happened in the states, and the mobile phone company stopped the number and were sued for affecting another companies business!!!!  Sod them, I say, how dare they steal my money.  I've never asked for the texts.   Watch this space.

I have had two short codes from Virgin to text STOP to. None of them worked. Virgin's attitude is basically "nothing to do with us". I've spoken to about four different people over the last six weeks each one telling me they are going to "submit  a form", "make enquiries and they'll get back to me" - they never do. This texting company must have a financial connection with Virgin - they are both making money out of us. I've emailed Virgin to say I'm going to cancel my direct debit and they can take me to court if they like.

    Blame Yourself
It's not a rip-off if you can't be bothered to read the small print.  You've given them permission to bill you by using their crap services.  Don't want a bill?  Don't sign up for "psychic texts" and other such crap.
