Ok, you guys need to stop the "this is a ghost number" crap..

This is a GENERIC caller-id number that comes up when someone uses a Verizon Payphone to call your number..

Payphones with Verizon no longer give out phone specific caller id info, because they no longer allow people to call payphones. They are outgoing only.

It isn't a "ghost number" (please look up the definition so you can use it properly..) It is a real number that is within the Verizon payphone exchange network.


Again, it's simply someone you likely know calling you from a payphone that is operated by verizon - It will say NV - that is just because Verizon connects their payphone network to the normal landline network in NV!

Got called from this number at 8:22pm tonight, and didn't answer it thinking it was a cold caller.  Then I noticed they had called earlier, at 7:15pm, then had immediately called my work cell phone number at 7:17pm.  Very few people have both those numbers.  Called it back and it said it is a pay phone.. Very strange..

I just received a call from 7025609176. The area code is from Nevada. However a voice mail was left for me.
My husband had left home without his phone and needed to get a message to me. He was calling from a pay phone that is about 10 miles away in Western Kentucky!
It must belong to the company that owns the pay phones.

"Randy" called from this number inquiring about my rates for massage in Ft. Myers Florida. He was unaware of the number or that it was a Las Vegas number, so he claimed. I do not work with anyone without a traceable phone so I bid him well and hung up. Who does not have a cell phone these days, c'mon...people trying to sneak around on their mates, that's who..by people, I mean, MEN!
Anyway, guess "Randy" will have to try to find his 'touch' somewhere else.

i got two calls ten mins ago from this number but i didn't answer then it rang again i asnwered, it was my man we have been having some problems when i asked him were he was he said BACKERSFIELD CA,i asked him why it was coming up NAVADA,he said he didn't know he was at one of his brother inlaws empty run down condos in backersfield i asked if he was ok and if he had any money and as i started to cry and as he started to shocking up he said no then the  damn phone cut off i tryed to call back to see if he pick up but there was some recording thatsaid THE PERSON AT EXTENSION 702-560-9176 IS NOT AVAILIBLE! if he calls back i'll ask what steet he was calling from !!

My BF has called three times this week with this number showing on my cell as the caller id.  He's currantly in NYC, and I know this for a fact.  He lost his cell, had to use payphones to call this week, until he got a new phone today.  It's creepy, after reading all the other's comments here, that this number could be used by who knows(?), to do all kinds of sordid stuff.  Just gives one cause for thought, about how easy it is to re-route a number, and be "untraceable".  God.

Just wanted to add a "thank you", to "Notanidiot", for putting this fact out there.  I'm astonished, actually, by the number of women who automatically assume it's either THEIR men, or just MEN, in general, who are all in some sort of cheating conspiracy.  Jeez.....For the record, the thought didn't even cross my mind, as my bf calls every night, to check in and let me know he's ok. I know he's a trustworthy person, or I wouldn't be with him.  My concern, and ONLY concern, about this supposed "issue", is that some sick people can use payphone like this, to further their sick intentions, and not be caught.  For that reason alone, their should be some way for LE to pinpoint an actual payphone location, for the sake of locating missing kids, etc.  Just my two cents.

Got a call from this number caller Id shows Nevada call. After reading all comments here thinking it must be my friend calling from pay phone but not sure

This number called me while I was watching televison with my parents, & I didnt answer it, but I asked if I could be excused to check my myspace, but it was really to check where this call come from, At first I thought it was a fried named Jason that lives in Arizona that was calling, but he said he wouldnt be driving back home until Saturday, so I checked upp the areacodce for 702 & It came from Nevada & I called it back on my cell, because thats where they called me from, & Now Im worried from reading all these comments on this number. Anything could happen to anyone, once someone knows your phone number the can automatically know all your background information & Im terrified that something might happen, I will try & keep this website posted if this number calls me again, because I dont want anyone to be worried, & if they dont call Im going to post that up, because Im not sure if anything has happened to any of these people that wrote comments on this site. & its weird how A LOT of people are getting calls from this number, & even that theres a website about this number. Im only 14 years old & I HAVE NEVER gave my number out to a stranger. Im just curious on how they got MY NUMBER.

Okay, so I posted a comment earlier & I found out it was just my brother calling from this number! WHEW, I am relieved. Because me only being 14 is a stress with some random number calling. It is true, that if you you are calling from a payphone to a Verizon network service it will say this number is from Nevada, because its the netwroks nearest line. <3

I just got a call from a friend from this number.  He was using a payphone in Tracy, CA.  I suspect the number's a generic used by the company that owns the payphones.  That would also explain why calling back goes nowhere if this is the same number used on phones over, apparently, five states.

this call came @ 5:32 am-we have grown children so the first thing we thought was accident and then it said something about law enforcement and to email cheryllundy@sbcglobal.net if this is not a scam what's with the law enforcement reference?  all of our kids are safe and sound and not one of them tried to call

got this call like three days ago on my cell late at night, then just a couple minutes ago it called my job! How can they get my number at my job?! who are these people? and what do they want?

I got a call from this number to later find out it was from a pay phone in columbia, sc

I just got a call from that number and when i called it it said please leave a message and then the users box cant except more messages..so who knows.

I don't understand such things but my son works at Walmart and was using a pay phone to call home.  I won't answer unless I recognize the name and number on the caller ID.  Every time he tried to call this number came up and of course I didn't answer.  I think there is some sort of scam involved but don't know how it would be unless someone can get phone numbers for future scams.  It doesn't make sense but this has happened several times.

I got a call from this number and I won't answer if I don't recognize the number. However, I think I know what it is this is a payphone my ex-husband whose number I have blocked from my cell phone has to call from other numbers. He left me a message saying he was using a payphone in Northern calif and that it cost him a dollar to make this call! I think these numbers belong to the company that has payphones through out the US??? Just a thought it really does make sense though especially after you read some of the posts.

i am receiving several calls to my cell phone and have found this to be a scam number.  This number has called my boyfriend's phone and when he called back from my phone, I stared recieving MANY calls...i want this number blocked and this [***] to keep from calling me and my husband.  Please report this [***] and make it stop happening.  i am willing to press any charges necessary and am very angry this is allowed to happen.  Please make it stop.
