Its not the pay phone service. Its called spoffing...Its a way to make your caller ID number to be different. This is a very common one people use cause its been here forever. Thats why So many of you think that. Alot of new phones have the app. Spoof app. and all Iphones can download the app for free. My wife does it to me all the time. Look it up if you dont wanna believe me.

I got a call today from a friend using a borrowed IPHONE in
Chinle Az. This number showed on my caller ID (702)560-9176.
I called back and got the message: this is a payphone which doesn't take callbacks--etc-etc.
To Chicago-Arizona doesn't have a '214' area code.

2 calls in 30 seconds on my cell.

recieved 4 calls all a minute apart a half hour ago, called it back and it went straight to an answering machine. strange.

I got a call from a woman named sue (curiousue on aff) and said that her and her friend sara (squeegy) on yahoo were supposed to meet me. She and her crazy friend are trying to cause problems for me. I had them deleted from aff but they got my name and number somehow. This woman is crazy and her friend sara, if she is real, is crazy too. i live in louisiana.

My step-dad called from a 7-Eleven in San Diego CA this morning and this is the number my mother received on her caller i.d. (702)560-9176. Since my mom didn't recognize the number she told my to search it and it came up as Las Vegas NV. Luckily i found this forum and showed my mom. She was ready to throw him out, thinking he was cheating in Vegas and lying about losing his phone last night. Thank GOD for Google, otherwise my mom would be getting a divorce. i got a call from this number at 5:31, did not answer. they left a voicemail but said nothing and hung up. i dont know who it is or where it came from. but after reading all the other comments... its kinda creepy.

I rec'd 2 calls from this number...didn't answer it and after reading this post I"m glad

Got call, person hung up when I answered.  When I called back, I got a message saying that the person was unavailable and that the mailbox could not accept any more messages.

Woowwwwww, so just got another call from this number at 12:01 pm. Did not answer but a man with an indian sounding accent left a message saying he was a doctor and hes calling in regards of his patient whos name shall rename confidential and that his patient had come back positive for chlamydia. he was letting me know becauseeee this ones the kicker.... his patient said that i and he had sexual relations 7 months ago... thats right, 7! not possible dude [***] would have shown up within a month... also! i was in a relationship at the time and my boyfriend was very inexperienced with women, he was 18, and I 20 we dated for 6 months and we were both faithful and if we were dirty people, we would have let the other know. sooo this man is obviously a dumb ass just trying to scare people making them think theyve caught [***]. the only thing this man told me to do was to go get myself checked out to be safe. Luckily i already have my bi-annual appointment set up for monday, but i know i have not caught a damn thing. and this man needs to check his facts if hes trying to scare people.... what a dumbass.

i got a call from that number too.  it was a former boyfriend calling from a half way house in macon ga.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. It was my boyfriend calling from a payphone somewhere near Death Valley.

Confirmed....this is just a "ghost" caller ID number from payphones in the US. I just got a call from my BF from a payphone in SF with the caller ID reading: 702-xxx-xxxx

I just received a call tonight from this number!
They said "Hello, this is (said an Arabian name), and we were wondering if you would like to learn about about the savior of this world, Ala, and join the Jihad for free?"

This number showed up on my caller id. I did not answer it b/c it was not familiar to me. My mother (who lives in FL, I'm in WA) later called from her cell phone to tell me she called several times from a pay phone. I told her why I didn't answer and we got a chuckle out of it. I don't believe there is anything "weird" going on with this number. Unfortunately you can post anything up here and remain anonymous.

I am receiving violent threatening calls from this number! I want to press charges but i need a location where this number is coming from.

Its a general number  given to someone using a pre-paid calling  card.  My son just  called me and that is what it  was..  these  numbers  can ge  from any where..  hes in Kansas as so am i  So  that is what it  is..

i got a call from this number today, march 1, 2010, and my mentally ill daughter is out there somewhere and i dont know if this was from her or not.  how can i find out.  please help!!!!
