I'm getting calls from this company at least once a week. They ask me to send a payment to address with P.O. BOX 666... Is that a joke ?

This company is not a SCAM.  They are a legitimate company in Illinois.  Check the BBB to verify.  The only reason you probably are getting calls is because you owe MONEY!!!.  And yes, they do work for the municipalities.

I called the 708-455-4047 number. They wanted to speak with a family relative.  They would not tell me who they are. They said google the number. I asked are you law enforcement? No response.  I told them I would inform the State of IL Attorney General to google their number. They reiterated the need for a family relative to call them. I inquired who they were again and what this was about. They stated, "personal business." They hung up.

If they are legit, why do they respond like it is a scam? Why can they not identify the name of their company? What do they repeatedly call? I do not owe money. I have no fines or tickets. Something is wrong that they can access my phone number, whoever they are!

I received calls from them, but since put a SmartGuard on my cell to block calls from them and other creditors. However, I did receive now a letter from them saying I owe the village (that I lived in a year ago) $1,040.00 for violation #2128758. I called my village directly and they stated they said they deal with Municipal Collection Services, Inc. (whose name is on my letter).  Although the BBB lists them as non-accredited, that doesn't mean they are not valid. The BBB has given them a grade of A, (A+ is the highest grade and F is the lowest) where the grade represents BBB's degree of confidence that the business is operating in a trustworthy manner

I just called the number back and a pleasant lady answered the phone saying "Hello this is Desiree, how may I help you?". I asked what company I was calling and she politely said "This is Desiree with MCSI (Municipal Collection Services, Inc).

how do you know you don't owe any money if you don't call back?  Ever occur that what they are calling for could be affecting your credit report?

This number just called me. From reading these posts, it's from people who owe on tickets. I paid any tickets that I have received (none in a while) in cash, in person at the responding municipality that gave me the ticket (Round Lake and Palatine). I checked the site (RMI) and MCSI is a *client* of theirs. The (708) 455 number is NOT on RMI's page....This is the first page that came up on a google search for the number.

This is not a scam, they have been hired by my village to collect on some unpaid parking tickets and if they are not paid then I will get a BOOT on my car which is why I pay them $50 a month so wake up people.

They just called my number asking for a Vincent and saying the phone call had to do with Chicago Heights (a suburb in the south area of Chicagoland).

Based on all the replies in this thread, I would advise anybody to check with the actual village that the phone number indicates you owe money to prior to giving these people any information.

Phone calls can be rerouted or numbers very similar, as well as messages in this thread can be made from anybody.

The worst thing you can do is assume these people are legitimate and give them your info.  The second worst thing you can do is to assume these people are a scam and ignore them.  Just do you homework if they call you by calling the local police department for the village they claim you owe money to.

But don't believe posters here just because they say this is a scam or is not a scam.  Even people thinking they know the right answers may be incorrect, due to similar phone numbers or incorrect interpretations of information.

i need another number beacuse this one rings two times and hangs up i need to pay this before it gets sent to my credit repot witch is on sundays i never got the ticket in the mail because i moved and didnt change my address on my plates and so on so if any one can help plase let me know thanks but i really do run a lot of red lights so i belive it

im in arizona   never been to chicago or surrounding areas     so how legit this company is ? well im sorry but u dont call arizona for parking tickets in chicago   if thats what it is about of course    i dont know    i dont answer the phone so i really dont care    but to the ones that say just pay them   DO NOT!    unless u get a letter or something more then a phone call ;o)

I'm receiving calls from this number, have attempted to return call and get a message to leave message. They say I'm in violation for something that I don't know about. What can I do about this?

They are a collection agency collecting money from Villages in the south suburbs.  If the city didn't get the money, what makes them think you are going to pay them the money, especially after they tack on fees, etc.  Went from a $40 tix to now owing $250.00.  They keep sendign mail to my old address even though my plates have been changed.
