- Alan| 1 replyI recieved a call from this company as well, and acutally signed up with them for magazines.. The first time they called the call dropped because they are calling from an automated dialer, when they finally got ahold of me I found out I was selected to recieve a $1000 shopping spree and 5 magazines of my choice... So far no problems with this company or their services, no mean reps or anything. I'm surprised to see what i saw other people comment. I think generally some people just don't like telemarketers.

- Lisa...These people called me a few weeks ago.. They are actually a publishing company. I was very skeptical about the call. The girl I spoke with was very nice and I ended signing up for some magazines...To verify it was legit I did speak to their customer service dept. located in Florida.. And they are definitely legit. They got my name because I had signed up for something online. I think some of you people must be giving your info online...If you don't want these calls don't give out your personal info online. All in all, good company so far... I hope it stays that way!
- Caller: ALL STAR PUBLIC MAGAZINES
- haloSURVIVORWow, glad i found this website! I received a call last night from 715-392-3507.
I actually spent close to 45 minutes on the phone with these people. They are a
magazine company. That also does reward programs. After getting ALL the details I actually signed up for some magazines and a $1000 shopping spree.. After I signed up i found this website and got really worried after reading some of these posts so I called them back and told them some of the things I read. The girl I spoke told me that people in general a very skeptical of telephone offers and gave me her direct line if i were to have any problems with their services...We'll see what happens! I will try to come back and post again when I get my stuff in the mail. So far I don't think this is a Scam...- Caller: Allstar Public Magazines Inc.
- at cal.The man asked me if I was the one (the other name), I said no and he said he is going to try later.
- DonnaGot the same $1000 shopping spree. Told caller I didn't subscribe to magazines, then she said she was just letting me know I had won the $1000 spree. It is supposed to be mailed to me. Sounds like a scam to me. That is why I am on this site. Same caller I.D. All Star Public, call no answer. Phone number was 715-392-3507.
- Caller: Publishers
- Grad StudentPerson called me 7:40 pm and I didn't answer. I called back, and no one answered back.
- eThis guy called my boyfriend tonight and asked for me by name. He said his name was Kevin and that he went to high school with me. (also that I gave him my # last night)I called back, no answer.
For all of you saying that this is a good company or whatever, they seem pretty sketchy to me, I would not trust them if they change their story everytime they call someone. - Furious HusbandI answered my wife's cell, because the 715 area code is where my parents live (several states away).
They asked to speak to my wife, asking for her by name.
After several minutes of listening to my wife on the phone, I heard her give her Date of birth. I asked her what it was about and she said magazines. That was enough.
I took the phone back and told the person we were not interested in "magazine subscriptions over the phone". The person, claiming to be "John Everett" with "BMP", laughed at me and told me it was not my order, it was my wife's.
I proceeded to tell him that there was no order. He insisted there was and that wife had agreed to give him her credit card number. I ASSURED HIM THAT DEFINITELY WASN'T HAPPENING.
He said he needed to hear that from her, so I held the phone up to her face, and she said "I am not going to be able to do this."
"John" continued to laugh and riducule me for being so angry, and hostile etc. I commenced to throw the book at him, and indeed there was a blue streak involved.
He said "would you make those same threats if I recorded this call?" I begged him to record the call so I could prove his illegal activity.
He refused to transfer me to a supervisor or owner, claiming "I am the supervisor" "I am the owner".
He refused to give me the city in which he operates.
He hung up when I continued to press him for legal information, such as full company name, location, agent for whom legal process should be served, etc.- Caller: "BMP" is what he claimed.
- JohnnyI also received a call from this number saying I won a 1000 dollar online shopping spree. I receive a call a week ago telling me the whole schmo with the magazine subscriptions but i quickly brushed that off because it sounded like a scam. Then when the other person called yesterday, she said that i didn't have to do anything and that they were sending out the gift certificate in the mail in a few days. She asked me my age and said she was from Publishers and that I was a visa/mastercard preferred customer.
- Jim HJust received a call from this number. Knew my name, not as James, but as Jim. Asked for my age, occupation and preffered credit card. Said he was from the Publisher's. Also told me that I had won a $1000 online shopping spree. We'll see if I receive it.

- MelloI recieved a call from this number today on my CELL PHONE!! But because I was at work, I couldn't answer and later saw it as a missed call. I don't normally answer numbers I don't recognize anyways nor do I call them back if they can't leave a message; which they did not. Afterall, can't be that important then, right? So I hopped online to look up the phone number and am glad to have found this website. If they try to call me again (and from some of your comments, they will) I know I'ma give them a PROPER cuss out!! I mean, how did they get my CELL PHONE NUMBER?? And if they know me by name and address...oh yes, I'm definitely flippin out because they are really trying to find someone to scam. That's just not right!!
- jae(guy)called and asked for me by name and said i won a 1000 dollar shopping spree and all he kept asking me for was the 3digit security number on one of my credit cards and when i asked to speak with a supervisor he hung up.

- GabrielaI lost count of how many time I've seen this number on my cell. Because I don't recognize the area code I never answer and today I decided to check only. Just in case it's really somebody I know. Sometime I receive call from Brazil and the caller ID says Dallas or even Durham.
Good to know that really shouldn't waste my time answering to this number.
Thank you all! - ChelseaIt was a women... she said the exact same thing as everyone else... but I told her I was turning them into the FCC!!
- Caller: cell just showed the number
- kind of confusedCalled me on my ATT cell phone, but I was at work, so I didn't answer. No message left.
- kimcalled my cell phone, never give out my cell phone number anywhere! Lady told me I won a 1000 shopping spree from publishers clearing house for being a visa/mastercard holder. Ask for the year I was born in and said it would be in the mail. This was last week, the check has yet to come. This seems like a scam, I made sure all my credit card numbers were changed and put a theft alert on my credit for the next 90 days.
