Report a phone call from 716-566-9598 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- AKSame story as the others. Someone called our business claiming to be Nationwide Marketing for the yellowpages online. Wanted to know if we wanted to advertise. When I said "No" they said that was fine but that they would send us a bill for $598. I tried explaining that we never did any advertisement, but they didn't listen and said we would get an invoice in 10 days. I tried calling back a couple hours later and the phone number had been disconnected.
- Caller: Nationwide Marketing
- AnonymI have been getting calls all week, but I haven't had anyone get verbally abusive with me, i wish they would though!
- TempI received a call from this number asking about renewing our Yellow Pages listing (I am a temp and I don't know whether or not we have one). Ever since I told them to call back, I have received calls from this number that disconnect once I answer. Apparently the provider for this number is Paetec, and they have contact information at the bottom of this link for fraud: http://www.paetec.com/info/phone.html.
- UnbelievableThese guys obviously aren't that intelligent. If they're trying to get your information, wouldn't it make more sense to be polite and try to wheedle it out of you than to be rude and verbally abusive? I guess we can be glad that they seem to have some missing brain cells, as less people might have been inclined to post here warning about it if the guy on the other end of the line hadn't started cursing.
Just a note: On my cell phone, this call only shows up with the area code on my caller id. Just 716. But it's the same scam. - computer UserThis number has been calling my office for a while now, I can't remember when it started. It is usually silence when I pick up but sometimes they ask for my employer by name so I just dump them into his voicemail. Recently I decided to ask if there was something I could answer. He told me that he was with Yellow Book and that we had online advertising last year for which he needed to send me an invoice for (for around $650). He then asked if I wanted to renew the service for another $650. He said that they send the invoice at the END of the year. Since our company HAS advertised with Yellow Pages, I figured he was legit and verified my company's billing address (he had it all correct, I assumed he should have it). When I said I could not agree for another year without confirming with my boss, he said "That's okay, we'll just mark you down for declining the renewal and we'll give you a reference number to call back with in case you would like to renew."
This all happened yesterday. Today they call again. This time the same silence when I picked up. I turn around and enter the caller ID into google and that brought me here. I read through everyone's comments and realize that it was a scam. 30 seconds later another call, this time with a guy on the line with the exact same requests as the day before with sending me an invoice, renew for next year.... I tell him I just googled his number and read up on his scam.. he says "wow, you're a smart one aren't you?" He continues to insist that its a legit company. I ask him why he said he needed to send me an invoice for last year when I didn't agree to anything, he says "well thats just sales pitch!" OMG! So I tell him he can send it if he wants but I know its BS and that I won't be paying it. I asked to take my company's number off the list and he said he would.
While he was trying to prove that they were legit, he told me to go to www.blueyellowbook.com to check them out. I said it looks nice but anyone can build a website.
I then get another call, this time from a girl who sounds like she's working from home. I only say this because it was dead silence in the background whereas the previous calls I could hear other operators like a typical call center. She said she is calling in reference to the invoice and I tell her I know its all a scam and I asked for her phone number and billing address so that I could send her an invoice. She was surprised to hear that and asked what I was going to invoice her for. I told her that we can just trade invoices for fake services. She gave me a phone number (which I am assuming is fake and won't try calling after reading a previous post about how they might be harvesting phone numbers in this manner). FYI, the number she gave me is 877-658-4699.
Perhaps we can use the website to submit complaints to the FCC or Better Business Bureau?
Sorry for the LOOOONG post, just thought some of you may find interest. - AMYI'm not sure if its the same number that I'm receiving the calls from. But my business recieves calls at least once or twice a week from Yellow Page online listing, asking to verfiy our address and phone number, and even ask from my name. After I vertify the info, they then tell me to hold while to connect me to their quality controls guys, which he goes throught the whole thing again, and even sometime again, which normally I get upset for having to repeat myself and I end up hanging up. Thats when I decide to do some reseach online to figure out if these were legit. After reading the info from other on this website, I feel its a scam, and want to warm others. Just hang up!!!
- MikeThey are scammers out of Canada - allegedly. They could be scammers from Europe using a fake address to register the website with stolen credit card info. Mailing a bogus invoice would also be mail fraud.

ns2.primarydns.com 216.219.239.8 - AngieWe got a call from this number today referring to a renewal of or yellow page online listing. When I told them that we weren't listed and asked if this would be a free or charged listing he told me that I would receive a bill for $ 700.00 in the mail. I know that everything is getting more expensive, but when even the crooks want to charge more it shows. I told him that I am confident that this listing was never authorized by anyone in the company and that we are definitely not interested in this service. He just hung up.
- Janet-NebraskaI get phone calls from 716-544-9598 a few times a day. When I answer, there is a click and then a dial tone. When I called the number back, it said that number is disconnected.

- Don2DI pressed *69 after getting a phone solicitation from Blue Yellow Book saying that I owed them money for a listing on their site (one which I never signed or asked for).
I can tell they've been doing this to many people because they only have the information they can get from other sources. There are no fax numbers for anyone, nor do they have any company logos or official web site links for any of their "customers".
This is obviously a bogus online directory service that is trying to extort money from companies by putting their listings on the site without authorization.
Just go to blueyellowbook.com (a ridiculous name anyway) and check it out. If anyone knows how to stop these people, please do.- Caller: BlueYellowBook.com
- DYesterday the president of our company received a call from this number and doesn't speak much English and put me on the line. A man identified himself as Vincent Pretel and said he wanted to verify if our company wanted to renew the subscription to the yellow book. I said we had not subscribed to any service with his company and he assured me that they would not list our company if we didn't authorize. He said I could cancel but would receive an invoice for the year that our company had been listed. He transferred me to a "quality control" person and he wanted to verify that I was the person authorized to purchase and that he could send the invoice to. I told him I was authorized, but would not pay any invoice and he passed me back to the first person. Went back and forth a couple of times and I just finally hung up.
- J. RothHispanic /NY accent. Tried to use big words that sounded extremely ignorant with his pronunciation. Said I owed $600 plus dollars for some internet advertising that I never signed up for because I didn't even own the business when he stated my billing started. He said it didn't matter that i didn't sign up for the services and that he was gonna turn us to collections.
[***] you!!! - RexCalls saying your renewal to Yellow book is due and that I owe $699.00 from last year. I advised that I do not list with Yellow Book and will be reporting them to the State Attorney General. He wanted to know if the attorney general will pay the bill. I hung up on him. This the second call of this type

- JOur business has been receiving calls from this number every one to two hours, every day, for the last two weeks. The caller asks for the owner (by name) who they are told is unavailable and they hang up. Sometimes they just hang up without saying a word. Calling the number back gets a message that the number is out of service or has been disconnected.

Told him I did not want to renew, said he would send invoice out for $719.00 for the past 12 months, and then connected me with another person to give me a termination number. I am going to take the phone number to my local police department
- JasonGot a call this week saying they were from the internet yellow pages & that my ad had run for a year for free & now I owed $719.99 for the 2nd year. I told the lady on the other side that I had not approved any of these charges or any ad. I asked if they had sent out any invoices & they said they had. I checked & they didn't. Tried to call back & wouldn't you know, "You have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service." I hope they call back so I can f*** with them to entertain myself.
