Just got a call claiming to be Visa, telling me that my Debit Card account had been deactivated.  It was an automated voice asking for my account number.  I made one up and continued; it asked me for my 4 digit expiration date.  I hung up.

It was also on a Verizon cell.

Thanks for the info everyone.  They called me @ 8:54am I missed the call & they did not leave a message.  I also have a Verizon cell.

Total scam.  They called asking for my Visa card number, expiration, cvv code and my pin number

I got this call "from" Visa, it is a scam. Do not give out your card info.

Got a call from these low life. I wonder who to report it to? Local Police (Baltimore County) doesn't give a s**t.... Any idea?

Got the same call today saying my Visa debit was de-activated and to press one to transfer to rep to re-activate. I immediately hung up as 1) I have no Visa debit 2) no business has my cell phone number.

If anyone know where to report, please update.

Just got the same call, also to my Verizon cell.  Don't know if this is a coincidence, but a few days ago, my phone said that an FBI Van was attempting to pair with my phone and it asked if i approved the pairing (which i did not).  Did anyone else also have that happen to them?

I purchased a $25 Visa Gift card at 4:01 today and at 4:35 I received a call to my cell phone telling me they needed the 16 digit number to activate the card.  Since I never purchased a card before, I gave it to them.  Then they wanted my expiration date and the 3 digit code on the back which I also gave them.  Then they asked for the zip and my social which I did not give them.  When I called the number back it was The Latitude Condos with a www.latituderiverdale.com web site.  I called Visa and registered my card and am hoping now it is safe.

Called saying it was VISA calling and my card was declined at a Tanning Salon, citing the card a stolen.
Asked me to press one. Clearly a scam.

The number on our phone was 718-683-3104 and the recording said the company name was The Lattitude.  My husband did press #1 and the recording stated his VISA card needed to be activated and to enter his account number.  He hung up.

I received the same call on my cell phone, which was strange in itself as I have not given that out to anyone other than friends and family.  I was curious to see what would happen so I played along entering only 1's for the requested info:

After all that I still got a message saying my card was reactivated.

My wife and I both got a call from this today, on our AT&T cell phones.  I pressed 1 and almost fell for it, but then hung up and called my bank to check.  The only reason I almost fell for it was because my wife's debit card was in fact compromised just the other day, and we had received three automated messages on our home phone about it.  Thankfully, that one was legit, but now I'm wondering where the connection is in grabbing both of our cell numbers and calling us in the same day.  My guess is there is a hack on one of our cell phones (she has iPhone and I have Android), and this Phishing operation out of New York (number is a Land Line under MCI Metro) is dialing down the list of numbers.  Bank's fraud department said it was likely a phishing attempt, didn't even ask about what number it came from, and said to call them back if I get the same call again.  Way to go BoA!

I'm afraid that as we grow more and more dependent upon our smart phones and tablets, the more hackers are going to target these devices.  Be very careful about what apps you put on your phone and always check what sort of features you're authorizing them to control when you install or update.

got the call at 6:30 tonight it is for sure a scam, but I did not answer and they did not leave a message...I went to my verizon account and put a block on the number.

Wells Fargo Scam number, don't give any info!

got a call 5 minutes ago claiming to be the "security department" and my debit card was deactivated requesting i call them

Called and hung up more than once.

We got this call tonight. I called back the number from a different cell phone and got the recording.  Within 30 mins. it called me back.  asked for card number, pin number, security number on back of the card, social security number, and the billing address zip code.   I entered all "0" and completely random recurring  numbers.  It then told me my card was reactivated.  We also have Verizon cell service I then called the sheriff department and filed a complaint and they referred me to the District attorney for further action. I left a message with the DA and gave them the number.  SO YOU GUYS OUT THERE TRYING TO TAKE OUR HARD EARNED MONEY...................HOPE YOU GET CAUGHT AND SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME IN PRISON WITH BUBBA!

I just got this call on my Verizon cell too...it is a scam.  Verified with my bank and turned in the number that came up on received call so they can use it to collect information.
