They did not know my name and said they were calling regarding my Windows computer.  I don't own any Windows computers: definitely a scam.

Pretty much the same as everyone else here...

The caller identified himself as being from Windows (can't remember whether he actually used the word "Microsoft"), informing me that my computer had been sending out emails with viruses.  When I told him I had no computer, he hung up.

They called my house over and over with sexual obscenities after they told me i apparently had a currupt windows.

Several calls about "my computer".  ID as "Michael " from Microsoft.  Told them nothing wrong with my computer & to stop calling as I thought it was a scam.  This time I traced the number & saw all the other complaints. I am in New Jersey.

just got the call, unfamiliar with the number, didn't answer.  they didn't leave a message either.

I received a call from this number, half an hour ago today (Tuesday, 08/07/12 at 10:30 am Central time). The person was sounding like an old man, on my inquiry he said he is my father but he lives in Saudi Arabia. I wondered, how could he call from a USA number being in KSA. It was really my father for my surprise. Can anybody help me in knowing how could he do that. My parents are separated and I hate him for that, we often share very ugly conversation.

Just want to know, how was he able to do it.

This number called me ( I'm in Scotland , United Kingdom ) and going by these comments, the scam is now targeting the UK- Thanks for the postings and glad I checked . Was going to call back but now I know not to bother

I have tried telling them no computer...that worked for a while , tried just hanging up or not answering but they still keep calling. I tried leaving the phone in front of the speaker for a while and arguing with them to stop calling.  Advised them I am not going to fall for their scam but they won't stop calling.  Called the police..no help there..surprise, surprise. I am on the do not call register also. Don't have access to call blocking for known numbers.  Short of changing my number that I have had for over 25 years not sure what the next step would be.
Thought of getting a air horn in a can and using that on the phone when they call but that is really mean and borders on assault ( if not assault.)

yes a somila man   call asking are you mis gordon,? i say you have the wrong number , then he said are you in front of your computer i said why?he said  there is a virus attacking all the computers. so i hang my phone. these trickters think they can fool all the people all the time. they will call the wrong people God  protects. his people.we are not all fools; to the persons calling from    ' 1 -718-783-8996 go and read the word of God and do what is right. get a real job.

Received a call today from 1-718-783-8997 from a man with oriental accent who said he was calling from microsoft windows,,,told him I didnt call anyone and hung up the phone,,,call came through on my cell phone,, I live in Florida

This unknown number called me in Copenhagen. I didn't answer.

They called me in response to my lost dog ad on craigslist. And told me that for a fee they can hire up to 200 people to locate my lost dog, they would post fliers and check shelters and even do door to door. I laughed and said, "i'm pretty sure I can do that on my own, but thanks." The caller did have a thick accent and come to think of it never gave me the name of his bogus company.

Just called me and I'm in Scotland. I never answered though and judging by the comments I'm glad I never!

Called me in The Netherlands. I've had this scam happen before from somebody in the Seattle area. They did not speak. I only heard an electronic voice say, "goodbye" and hung up. I left the phone connected for a couple of hours to drive their phone cost up.

I got a call from this number too...Im in NORWAY.

Got a call from this number just now, i'm in Malaysia. Good thing didn't pick up. I don't know anyone in the US.

Had someone today stating to me that they are a partner with Microsoft and they wanted to show me how infected my computer was and that they were calling to immediately get rid of these files for me. What a joke. I said how would you know that? They then pretended to pass me to their supervisor. I got tired of this charade and hung up. The accent sounded East Indian or there abouts.
