Missed a call today from them on my cell. My boyfriend received a pre recorded message from that number too about winning something.

I'm wondering how they got our cell phone numbers too!

I forgot to mention I am in NB Canada, and this call is from the US.

This is so weird, I've gotten this call twice, and every time I try to call back I it says that the # has been disconnected or is no longer in service. WTF?

Wow.  These threads get pretty boring.  The DNC list was a scam.  They amassed the numbers and then sold them to telemarketers.  At least in Canada.  The DNC list is a relic of the past.  It didn't work.  If this is ever to stop we need some way to leverage ALL the phone companies.  ie. money  Make them pay for every minute of telemarketing.  If this is in place then we can all answer these calls, listen to the whole thing, and be reimbursed the long distance charges and minute rates.  Then double this total for customer inconvenience.  There should be a body in place between the cell companies by now that eliminates telemarketing altogether on cell phones, and eliminates scams from landlines.  Except oh wait, they make a killing from every telemarketer/scam and the people they call as it is all long distance and minute use to them.  Is anyone going to talk about solutions here?

Also if ALL the phone companies are together on this they would just say, "Hey who is the carrier for 7476898989?  Oh, it's you?  Yeah shut it down you're costing ALL of us money."
