these people used automatic dialers that go through a numerical sequence going up or down. That is how they get unlisted numbers. the calling number changes because the machine grabs the next line going out. the people you talk with are illegal aliens or in another country or on an island because it is really hard to get Americans, even if they are poor, to do this to other Americans.
The phone companies are not telling the truth when they say they can't trace the numbers because someone is collecting money for those lines.
If you did this from your phone they would find you really fast. Even the new cell phones can be tracked.

I received a call from this number on 9/19/2011.

It is still in my caller ID.

When I answered, a robotic voice said, "do not worry . . . this is not a . . . "  I hung up.


I have "do not call" on all my phones;  I re-subscribed to "do not call" for all phones,in February 2011.

keep getting calls from this number...let it go to the answering machine and they hang up when they hear the voice prompt. I'm on the DNC list, but still get many bogus calls.

"Rachel from Cardholder Services" is almost certainly a credit card phishing operation because the latest caller said he needed my credit card number to verify my balance. They are almost certainly a criminal operation. They also are definitely in violation of Do Not Call although that is a civil and not a criminal offense.

The most effective thing to do is to tell them you need to find your credit card number, leave them on hold while you "look for it" (I left my radio playing so they would know they had not been cut off so they would wait longer) and then, after you have wasted as much of their time as possible without wasting any of yours, let them know what you did and why--you knew they were scammers all along and, if they don't want it to happen again, the best thing is for them to never call you again. One guy hit the roof and said sarcastically, "I hope you enjoyed wasting our time" to which I replied, "I hope you enjoyed your call to a Do Not Call number."

I am sufficiently tired of them, though, that I am turning them in to law enforcement for harassing phone calls plus suspicion of credit card phishing.

By the way, none of these numbers are real; they spoof the phone number to prevent tracing by Caller ID.

i recieved a call from 7276749999 this am. This has got to be illegal activity being perpetrated on anyone uninformed .This was supposed to be my last chance to lower my interest rate to 6.5 %. I do not owe anyone enough to warrent such an offer.Therefore I believe that some crooks are out to trick someone into giving out vital personal data and then steal this person blind before they know it.Be aware ! I never answer such calls and let my recorder pick up instead. I will report this incident to "the do not call .gov" as my numbers are listed.

says they will reduce interest on credit cards

selling lower interest rates.  If you have a phone company voice mail and press 3, it will delete the message, not stop the calls from coming.  Undoubtedly they chose this number knowing it would not work so they can keep calling and eventually get you to press 1.   Never answer calls from an unavailable number. If they can't identify themselves, they are not a legit company.

Call 8002572969 and have Verizon trace the nuisance call.  Then have them block the number

We have been getting two or three calls a week from Card Holder Services. We pressed the "3" to "opt out" of further calls but it doesn't help. When we press "1" to talk to a represaentative, they hang up on us as soon as they discover we don't want to "transfer" our account balances -- Very annoying.

This phone number 727-674-9999 left a message on my answering machine about LOWERING MY INTEREST RATE.  I hit REDIAL of this phone number on my phone.  I wanted to tell the caller to take my phone number off their call list.  I was surprised!  The computerized phone message from the phone company said that PHONE NUMBER 000-000-0000 WAS NOT IN SERVICE.  I would assume these are the bad guys.

THEY keep calling my phone too...not sure who they are

The best way to deal with this is to do *57 on  your telephone to trace the call, then after tracing it, The contact your "Your local Police department" to file a report,  Then after that call your Local Telephone provider company  EX: Comcast and ask them for the legal department telephone number to file report.  The legal department will handle it from there.  Also, make sure your telephone number is on the DO NOT CALL List.  Then you can sue this company for calling your telephone number without your permission.

Received call from this number several times.  Never any message left.  Caller ID comes up as U09261607540145.  This is obviously not a legitimate call since there is no name - only an overseas number so probably phishing or a scam.

Blow a whistle in there ear THEN report them.

Call was from Clearwater , FL.  Didn't bother to answer.

This is really hard for me to admit, but I am going to acknowledge all so that others can learn from my stupid, idiotic behavior.

Received a call from 727-674-9999 at 5:47 PM yesterday to my home phone # stating the following:  There are no problems currently with your account.  It is urgent that you contact us concerning your legibility for lowering your interest rate to as little as 6.9%.  Your legibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice.  Press the #3 to discontinue further notices or press #1 to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate.  Thank you.  Have a great day.

Like a fool, I pressed the #1.  The first thing a young lady said to me, after waiting on the line for 5 minutes, was that I was selected because of my absolutely flawless credit card payment history, which is absolutely true.  She identified herself as Credit Card Services and that she was empowered to lower high interest rate credit cards with large balances to 6.9% APR.  She could do this for BoA, Citi Bank, Chase, Capital 1, etc., for MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards.  Did I have any that meet the criteria of credit line >$3,000 and higher than 13% APR.  No, I said, but I have 2 below that rate with higher credit limits than that, but still above 6.9%.  She asked for credit card #'s and confirmed expiration dates, asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN, all of which I freely gave (DUMB____).  She kept me on the line while she checked stuff.  Needed further info including DOB and Mother's maiden name, again which I gave (even DUMBER____).  Then while waiting again for slow computers, they disconnected the call with no further explanation after about 45 minutes, which I surmise that they were isolating whom I was.  As I looked to call them back, I got another call from another individual from the same company (Allegiance Telecom of FL, Inc.) 407-565-2125 who basically I believed to be a supervisor and who was familiar with my case because she could immediately talk about me.  She said they could not lower the interest rate on either card because I previously had it lowered, which was not true.  So there was nothing you can do, I asked.  She said, yes, nothing more we can do.  At which point, I said YOU ARE SCAMMERS, which she took personal offense to, and then said I know your name -- are you famous?  I think I have heard your name before.  Shortly thereafter, I said goodbye and hung up -- but I knew I'd been scammed.  What really makes me angry is that I believed them.  Most of the time I am very skeptical and would never provide information like that, but this time I was not.  One hour later and after googling the telephone #'s, I cancelled the credit cards I'd compromised and placed fraud alerts on all three of my credit reports and further attempted to undo the damage I'd done by calling the cc providers.  Then I changed and upgraded my passwords for my accounts.  When I googled  phone # for reverse look-up I found a myriad of other complaints about the same type of thing associated with that phone # and Allegiance Telecom of FL, Inc.  I know they were successful in isolating me, because the supervisor was able to tell me exact balances on both credit cards and corrected me on the APR on one of the credit cards.

Now, I am going to get them -- going to hunt them down and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.  I called the Clearwater Police Department to start and now have a detective investigating them.  Let them clean up their own back yard.  The FL Attorney General will also be a recipient of a later call today as well as the FTC.

No excuse for this felonious behavior even though their story is so believable.  I guess I wanted to believe that here was a company doing something good for all the people experiencing such economic hard times right now.  I cannot imagine how many people they have conned.  They are a bunch of thieving ___HOLES,  and I will get them.  That is my solemn promise.

I keep getting a recorded call from "This is Rachel from card holder services ..."  How do I report this to some authorities on fraud.
