Why is it that the government can find Osama bin Laden, but they can't seem to track down Rachel from Cardholder Services?

This is a recorded message from some woman who doesn't identify herself and is already talking before the machine starts recording.  Starts out with "no problems currently with your account."  They call almost daily sometimes a couple times a day. They stated it was my final chance to lower my credit card rate.  (Our rates are good and we do not have a credit card balance on our cards.)  I think they are phishing for credit information.

I am on the Do Not Call Registry and am fed up with receiving these calls.

Robo call "Rachel of Card Holder Services".  No Call Registry is useless.

Me, too.  On 10/24/11.  Still Happening.  Didn't answer but partial message recorded on machine.  Its about my 100th call of this type this year alone.  Get them almost every day.  I've never 'bitten' and answered, so don't know why they keep trying.  Number keeps changing; impossible to blocking them all.

I need to try the whistle thing, but I'd probably piss them off and they'd call even more than they do now.

Have no idea who keeps calling me from this number but they need to stop.

Called again.  Pay my debts on time so have no interest to pay on credit cards.
They can't even tell you which card they are calling about.  Don't answer the phone and they will never leave you a message.  They hang up before ans machine kicks in.  Annoying to have to check the phone first tho.

When I answered I said "Hello Tampabay".
They hung up.

Caller ID is Unknown Name. Allegiance Telecom of Florida, 8230 E Broadway Avenue, Tampa, FL 33619-1310 Acorn Scam wanting money for Obama.

this is ANOTHER Lower your credit card interest type call.  I guess it will never end.

THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't fall for this, I almost did that's how tricky they are, please hang up on them or don't answer your phone.

How dumb and stupid can you be? Everyone knows you do not give out any info over the phone (S.S. number, birthdate, credit card number, etc.) unless "you" called the company/person yourself and know exactly who you called. Anyone in their right mind knows you don't give out info when someone "calls you". I now know what part of the problem is with this country!! It's people like you that are clueless idiots.

Another point--- in your posting you speak of "a robo-call from Allegiance Telecom of Florida" Inc. again--how dumb you are and people like you start false rumors on these sites that make it harder for other victims to track down the scammers as you posted false information.

Florida Telecom is the same as a T&T, in which they have no authority over and are not associated with the credit card scammers.
The number the scammers post to your caller ID box is what's called a spoofed number, or is a VoIP call where they can enter any number they want to show on caller ID boxes.
Also, when you post an innocent company's name on a site like this you did with Florida Telecom you cause that company great disrespect as they are innocent.
Next time get all your facts straight before posting someone's name or a company's name in error. You can quickly trash the good name of an innocent party.
*** How many of us who are getting these calls from scammers, then wasted our time trying to find out info on Florida Telecom? A company that has absolutely nothing with these credit card telemarketers scammers?

A little education for you friend.

There is something called "VoIP" calls now. Voice over internet protocol phone calls. Where the company, scammer, person, uses their internet to make phone calls (magic jack that is sold on TV infomercials and dept. stores) as well as other equipment to make VoIP calls. I have contacted my congressman's office several times who had an engineer with the FCC call me back. I talked several occasions with this engineer who said the following-- calls made with VoIP are almost impossible to trace, it takes tons of man hours, super expensive equipment, and they have to have all of it set up in advance of any calls to you from the scammer- he also said the trace if they can complete one is not 100% accurate and most of the time a trace can not be made.

If you know a little about the internet, when you log on say from New York City to Baltimore (your connection might be routed thru Canada, California, back up to Philadelphia etc.){safe to say all over the place.} Your internet connection is routed thru many, many cities, networks, and the connection changes for the best and quickest connection.

So a VoIP phone call might be routed half dozen different ways or more during your conversation on that one call.

Now, the caller ID showing a phone number, you can not depend on that number to be accurate.

It was on the CNN a while back where a prankster purchased a spoof card online. Anyone can go online and buy a spoof card, you call a 800 phone number, enter your spoof card act. number, the number your calling and the number you want to show on the person's caller I.D.

On CNN, a prankster called the police dept. and spoofed a neighbor's number to show on the police caller I.D., the prankster then proceeded to tell the police dispatcher that there was a bomb, someone had been killed, and another being held hostage.

The police checking to see who the number belonged to then went to the neighbors of the prankster and kicked their door in, scared the kids to death, knocked the father and teen age son away from the dinner table. The family didn't know what the hell was happening. After several hours the police realized something was terribly wrong. They apologized to the family and left.

The moral of the story__ numbers on a caller I.D. can not be relied on

Got a call...they left no message...and I don't call the number back. It's obvious that the Do Not Call system does not live up to our expectations.

You are a self righteous A**.  I guess you never mad a mistake in your life and have never used an eraser on a pencil.  Get over yourself and stop typing in all caps! YOU ARE YELLING!  The person you replied to stated that they were admitting their mistake but telling about it to warn others.  What purpose did you have other than to make that person feel even worse.   If you want inform people then do it in a helpful way, not through insults and put-downs.  That attitude helps nobody.  Grow up and stop bullying and thinking that you are a gift to the world, because you are NOT!
