Paypal keeps SMS'ing me from here.

Paypal sent me a message requesting $1600 and I don't even have a paypal account? Scam?

Scam, I got just about the same thing

I got the same call .No message left. I did see the screen which indicated the call was coming from the municipality I live in.
It rang only once or twice and then stopped. I signed up for Paypal Mobile only 2 days ago. Already the scammers have their fangs out.    I will now opt out of Paypal mobile.. Who needs this kind of sh- - ?

Appears to be a legitimate PayPal number (listed on their site). I got one without having a PayPal account. Think someone accidentally used my phone #.

Do not give details to paypal about bank details ever via text.  This number asked me to confirm bank details to them to not authorise a payment to JTech Ltd.  I called paypal and this is nothing to do with them.  total scam using paypal logo

Received a text message which displayed "Paypal" as the sender and seemingly came from +44 729725.
The unexpected / worrying thing is that they actually adrressed me with my correct name and then continued "Payment confirmation of 169.99 GBP to JTech Ltd. If you didn't authorise this payment please click below. https://goo.gl/atDIX8 "
I do not dare clicking on that link, but it clearly is a scam as Paypal does not communicate like this.

Mine is only requesting 0.01 and I don't even have an account for paypal

I got a text from this number. It said:
    "Msg from PayPal: Transaction of -$XX with XXX has been marked suspicious. Reply Yes if authorized. "
This was an authorized payment I had just sent but I haven't received a text message from them in a long time. The number is related to PayPal that worked before they had an app. I think it's legit but I'm not going to reply. I have their mobile app. I think tthey should notify me through that.

Received a text with a "view receipt" link, but I don't use PayPal. Will check my credit card statements for fraud.

So I got a text from this number back in Feb saying I had sent money via paypal and click the link to view the receipt. I ignored it and I never got any charges on my actual account.
Today I got one that had a bunch of gibberish. A bunch of letters and symbols mixed around. No links in that one. The only English on it said "payment will remain declined. Msg and Data rates apply."

Recieved 3 msgs from 729725 today following an eBay/PayPal transaction done with giftcard.  States full info about the amount & who the transaction was with, Says it was marked "suspicious" and to reply Yes or No. Ignored, but called PayPal, was told it wasnt them.

Received a TEXT from 729725 saying my daughter (Used her actual name first and last) has asked me for $5. To pay open a link and "use paypal all I need is an email address". I ignored it and deleted it. My daughter knows I don't do paypal and sure would not use something like this for $5.

I received a text from 729725 yesterday with the following: PayPal: A $1349.00 USD payment to (Person’s name) on November 1 was marked as suspicious. Please reply “Yes” if authorized or “No” if not authorized. I replied “Yes” since I had made the payment, and received a text saying “We’re sorry, this request has expired. To access your account visit m.paypal.com.” Then I received the text again regarding the suspicious transaction. That’s when I suspected it might be a scam.  I called PayPal, and in this case, they confirmed they sent two texts, and that this is a new security feature they are using...

I just received this message as well.  I called Sprint, my provider.  They looked up the number and it is not from PayPal, it is registered to 'adds'

I have received two of these text  messages recently.  I have no paypal account.  Tried to reach someone at PayPal but that is useless.  This is a scam unless someone is actually using all my info and I want to know from PayPal what is going on.
