i got a same problem.
as soon as i cancelled Vonage service
I started to get this call.

I don't have Vonage.  I just transferred my home phone to SkyBeam internet and it's not working properly so all my calls are being sent to my cell phone.  (I got stuck with AT&T when Alltel was bought out by them recently)   First time I received a call from this number.  No message left.  Good to know it's a garbage caller!!!  Thanks!!

How long do these call continue?

We just canceled with Vonage & got this call within days. First time, wondering how many times they will call too. I have to guess it is to see what service we switched to?

Just canceled Vonage because of poor quality phone service. Received a call from this number 2 days after cancellation. Just a call and no one there.

Same exact thing.  I canceled three Vonage Numbers and had the ported to another carrier; Verizon. Then 1 week to the day later, simultaneous rings to the numbers that were Ported....really weird. Home and office phone ringing at the same time from the 732-444-4661 numbert that we rolled over into voicemail...no message left.  They were truely fishing on the canceled number.  Glad to hear others report on this as well.

Just ported my Vonage No. to a cell phone -T-Moble and this No. started calling saying a test but since I stopped Vonage ...due to wanting my old No. on to a cell carrier .they call many times ,There service was fine just wanted my old No. of 50 years to a Cell line .and sine I have a 3 tier TV -NET-Phone deal did no longer need a second House line ..but now these calls are coming quite a bit .. disturbing  for sure but I can BLOCK the calls on my cell phone

I got this also twice on the day I cancelled Vonage.  I am pretty sure it is the Vonage system checking the line to make sure it is transferred over to Magic Jack before they disconnect the account. Not a bad thing.

Drop the Vonage as soon as you can.  It is a waste and the service sucks.

Cancelled my Vonage and switched to a cell phone, got this call the first day.  blocked it on my cell phone.

Cancelled the Vonage service and started getting the call 3 days later. I hope they won't continue calling me.

Interesting.  I've never ever had anything to do with Vonage, nor have I changed either home or cell providers recently (haven't had a home phone in almost 2 years, and had ATT/Cingular cell for at least 10 years) - and I got three of these calls today.

Horrible practice to simply leave dead air when you answer, and for the call back recording to not identify the company or give any explanation of who is calling and why . .or a number to call for more info.

I just got an email about 30 minutes ago that my Vonage number was finally ported. Now I am getting these phantom calls also.  When you answer it is a dead line.  

I got a call from this # today morning but when I picked up the phone noone answered. I had BASICTALK/Voange service earlier which I cancelled yesterday after porting was successful.

I just got my first robot call from Vonage (owns BasicTalk), after porting out my BasicTalk number to a VoIP company that gives me services that BasicTalk doesn't provide, including call-forwarding, and softphone capability. When Vonage's robot called me, it wouldn't let me answer my phone, so I had to shut down my phone to stop the ringing. Those [***]! I was thinking of later porting back to Vonage (I once had this particular line connected with them) because even though they charge more, their calls are more reliable and I could set up my alarm system dialer to work through Vonage's box. My dialer won't work through WiFi, but I won't need it until I move again. But now, with the robot-calling experience I just had, I'm not sure if I'll switch back to Vonage.

Yup, I cancelled Vonage yesterday and received 2 calls within an hour.

how long does this go on? i switched last week and just got my first call
