Sometimes these companies send out robot calls to track times of the day they are actually answered.  This gives them a time frame to call and actually try to talk to someone.

Phone rang once and stopped; my cell phone showed this number.  They called back immediately, and I rejected the call.  My cell phone number is on the Do Not Call list.

Called, did not answer, tried to call back - busy the whole time.   I usually look up the phone number on teh internet to determine if the call is legit.

i received 2 calls on my cell phone from this number within minutes. There was NO ONE on the line or message left.  It is so frustrating..

I take all these callers and give them a name (I use Blocked) and assign that phone person designation a silent ring tone (do a search).  Not as good as a real block, but I don't have to answer or be disturbed.

Just got this scum call today on my PRE-PAID cell phone, didn't recognize the area code so didn't answer (so no charge), landed here and see the Truth.

Yeah, it's illegal to telemarket to cell phones, also on 2 DNC lists, but why does a criminal care?  They are out to steal your identity for big bucks, the chances of getting caught doing illegal calls is so far down on their radar, and the FTC/FCC has proven itself entirely ineffective at policing this stuff, so why worry?

I'd really like to see a concerted sting effort run by the feds to locate and lock up these thieves, seize their assets, and distribute it to all of us who have been victimized (either by inconvenience or actual loss).

They called but hung up after three rings.

It's the Cardmember Services scam. A$$holes.

It's a credit card place. If you tell them not to call you they hang up. My husband talked to them, they wanted to consolidate his cards on a new one and when they asked how much debt he has he told them his 7 credit cards were maxed out, they hung up.....imagine that! LOL He loves to mess with these jerks!

I got a call from this number at 12:22 today.  It was a recording offering me lower rates on a Discover Card.  (I don't have one.)  I pushed 1 to speak with a rep.  A guy came on and said, "Do you want to lower your rates today?"  I said, "No, I want to tell you that you've called a cell phone on the do not call list and I want you to stop."  He said, "You sound like a real [***], ma'am."  Nice guy.  I thought calls like this a. to cell phones, b. to phones on the "do not call" list, and c. that were obviously phishing, were illegal.  I'm not very impressed with Verizon Wireless.   All they offer is for me to go online and individually block numbers after I get a call.  The jerks just call from another cell phone the next time.  I'm so sick of this annoyance!
