I just started receiving calls from this company about 2 weeks ago. They seem nice, and are leaving a message. But the people they are asking for or about are not me or anyone I know. They are calling me about 2 different people. Some franklin jones or something and then some like ...laquida or something. Saying if i know them or are related to them let them know. I have answered and told them 3 times now that I don't know these people and they've told me they would take my number off their list. But they are nice about it. Just annoying.

I get calls from Portfolio Recovery and they use different phone number. The first time they called me, we were able to set up a payment schedule. I paid for a couple of months but now I am worried that even If I pay the debit they may not consider it paid in full. I am not even sure how they calculated the interest and fees. If I pay the full amount, I need to know that they wont aske me for more money. The debit was for less than $1000, but now it stands at over $2000 with their fees etc.

They call all hours of the day, and night. weekend you name it.

All of a sudden I am getting call from this number and they never leave a message!  What the heck!

I keep getting calls from this number 757-961-3548 on my house/cell phone. They don't leave a message. I don't answer at all. I figure if they would like to speak with me than leave a message otherwise they need to stop calling and harassing people before the table turn and I sue them for harassing. I have not received no letter in the mail from them.

This lady calls from this number to say that I owe money to discover. I ask her why are you calling me now.? how long have you had this account, she says we had the account since 2004. Well, I say why are you just now calling to get money. We couldn't find you. I told her to that I would contact discover my self. I have made most of that payment. I don't believe her and what she says I owe is not the record that I have.  When she gave, or tried to give me the phone number to where there office was, I asked for the address, she gave me a P.O. Box address. I asked her for the phyical address. She told me that I didn't need that. I told her I would contact the Chamber of Commerce on both phone numbers, then I hung up.

these people are harrassing me even though I told them I do not know who they are after.they even ask for my birthday and address,when I ask who they are they declined to answer.finally I said that I am not giving out my address or personal info to a stranger and hung up on them.

I've gotten a couple of calls from this number and they never leave a message. I called back and they were asking for a couple of people by names I've never heard of. They said they'd remove me from their list since it was the wrong number. We'll see what happens but it seems like people falsifying their contact information and us getting stuck with calls.

call comes twice a day with no message left. turning it over to the state attorney office. nothing but the number shows up on the caller id

I told them my credit score is over 800, and their's must be near their IQ, somewhere around 75->80. Calls stopped.

Got a call from this number, asking for "Lisa", my estranged wife,  whom I've not lived with for almost 3 years. When I asked what it was regarding, she stated "a personal matter". I told her she would need to find Lisa on her own, if she wasn't willing to share the "personal matter" with me. She stated "Wow" and we concluded the call.

This number frequently calls me on a daily basis. I am a college student and am just starting my credit, which means it is either nonexistent or good. I don't have any debt and am just trying to live my life. This number calls me several times throughout the day: morning, noon, and night. They are always calls to my cell phone, which I never answer, and they never leave a message. Honestly they should get the message that I am not going to answer and if they really wanted me to, wouldn't they leave a message?

I have received between 5 & 6 calls from 757-961-3548 on my cell phone. I had the phone off at the time so I just had a message that I had a missed call. Each time, it was the same number. I would like them to stop calling !!

Have had several calls from this number - 757-961-3548  asking for someont that does NOT live here. They then want to know if I know this person..well it's none of their business who I know.

Yes, the company calling is Portfolio Recovery.  Try not to answer their calls, it will only cause you tremendous grief whether or not you have an outstanding debt.  Here is a list of some other numbers they use:

Just got a call from Portfolio Recovery. After I sent them a no contact order. I have to resend another certified letter of cease and desist. (sigh)

For those of you wanting to stop the calls, you should check and see if *60 that should prompt you to call blocking to stop them from calling.

Remember they have to provide you with the information by letter showing you signature that they are empowered to collect from you. One thing NOT TO DO, and that is set up an arrangement for payments. If the debt is past statue of limitations, once you make arrangements that resets the clock and you now are subject to their rules and they can garnish wages, empty your bank accounts and anything else to destroy your credit.

So becareful never give information to anyone over your phone, definately write a complaint letter to the State of Virginia, Attorney's General's Office. With enough complaints they will be shut down permenantly.
