They keep calling tell me about a  credit card. When is the government going to do something about all this

Yesterday, Monday February 10th ...I answered a call within 3 rings...ample time for the caller to wait for me to answer...they hung up and mycaller ID stated it was from Rogers MN.  I saw on the news about a telephone scam that people are getting charged outrageous  amounts of money for returning such calls so I didn't return the call !!!

Account Services scam.  This time I kept them on the phone for over 12 minutes while giving them bogus information.  Beat that!

So then I use this very same page that says they will look up the number for free...I submit the number and  now I am asked for money for this supposadly  free service...(SHAME ON YOU)

This number called my CELL phone; fortunately I didn't hear it ring, so didn't answer. Wouldn't have anyway, since it's a number I don't recognize. But what really frosts me is that they're wasting MY cell minutes. If it weren't for that, I'd love to string them along, like so many of you have suggested. But wasting more of MY minutes just to have a little fun isn't worth it. Guess I'll have to just keep ignoring calls from unfamiliar numbers..... By the way, isn't it ILLEGAL to call a cell phone??? Oh, well, silly me......since when do these lowlifes follow any rules???!!

Part of the problem with that is many state governments sell their DMV info to anyone who wants to buy it.  How do you plan on stopping that?

I have asked them many times to STOP calling my number,, I do NOt Have credit cards so I do not care about interest rates.. When I push #1 to speak to a real person, I start to explain to stop calling me , I have no credit cards.. They hang up on me. PLEASE make them STOP calling me..

I got the call, and have had them call me from various numbers - they call me about once a month or so.  My number has never been advertized, not even on shown on anyones caller id, since I use google voice for all outgoing calls. So I "assume" that they just call every available number in each exchange number from a calling machine.  Nothing you can do about it. I was upset about it at first but not much I can do, I get legitimate calls from numbers not in my phonebook all the time, so I have to answer. Soon as they say there stupid first line, I hang up.  We will all live another day - Just DO NOT call the number back!!

I've gotten at least 2 from this number THIS WEEK ALONE & ITS ONLY WEDNSDAY!!  I answer and theres NO ONE THERE!

Called my cell that is registered with dnc.  Did not answer.

These scammers don't buy any list. They are criminals and criminals dont buy anything. What they have is a program that known area codes and known first three digits for cell phones, business phones and home numbers. Then the programs randomly dial all combinations of the last four digits until. That is how you receive these calls even if you are on a do not call list.
I agree with Mille Mooch that if/when you answer the first time your number is saved for future calls.

I am not retired nor do I have time to waste talking to these people, however, I really like the ideas shared. I will give them (scammers) the number to various agencies.

@Bipper. That's funny! I didn't answer the call and they don't leave a message. The call comes out of MN.

This number calls me (along with several others) all from card services and then they hang up.
So tired of it and to top it off I added my cell number to the DO NOT CALL LIST TWO MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS NOT HELPED ONE IOTA.

I now have 14 different phone numbers in my cell phone that they have called from.  
We have to do something about this ourselves.  We just have to find out where they actually are.
My guess is they're using something like a spoof dialer, which uses a non-working phone number to show up as the call-back number, and as you guys say, they use a robo-dialer to make the calls.  No humans time is used on their side unless you push one of the options.
As soon as we find them, each and every one of us gets to take a belt to their rear ends.

The fact that these scammers still exist is proof that our government is wonderful at spying on the innocent for political reasons but can't capture an actual criminal to save their lives. If the Feds are really spying on every phone call, don't they have an ironclad record they can use to nail these crooks? Looks like they're completely impotent to stop an actual criminal.

Those are calls from other countries.

I sent all the information I could obtain on woman that owns the number, the company that provides her service and the address of both to the city of Rogers, MN. I included a note to let them know that I had added the entire area code to the block call list of my business, home and cell numbers.
No business to be done into or out of Rogers.  Please be sure and thank the lady.

I just received yet another call from these jerks. What will it take to get them to stop? For one thing they ARE BREAKING the law.  It is ILLEGAL to use robocalls in the US.  Second, I do NOT have any credit cards.  I am sick to death of this dishonest nonsense.

I receive a call almost every day on my cell phone which is listed on the no call list.  Please stop these calls.
